That's the point - reverting to the PreAquatica build puts the game back to the state it was in before, when you were able to play normally with mods. And for most people, simply opting in to the beta will do that, and their game will be playable.

But for some reason in a small number of cases, that doesn't work and even when reverting, the game still crashes. Perhaps the game's installation on your computer is broken, and Steam did not fully remove all the Aquatica update files when it reverted the install.

So if you uninstall the game entirely, removing all the Aquatica update files, then install it again purely from the PreAquatica beta, that should fix any of those broken files. It will fully reinstall the old version that you had before, which worked fine.

so that means any progress will gone???

I don't want to change to preaquatica because I might lose my progress.

that wont do much, its the payment methods such as visa or mastercard that are forcing steam.

It doesn't matter, you need to make steam aware that their kowtowing to the party line is unacceptable. They are complicit in this too. They sold out.

I've spent this entire comment section trying to elaborate that I don't want the game to be harder, I want it to be more survival-y and less progress-y.

They were the ones making an argument about reputation. Wolf just mentioned the proposed bill wouldn't fix the current issue because the issue isn't about discrimination.

It was removed because of reputational concerns which is what the bill was about and exactly what wolf said isn't true.

It wasn't removed due to reputational concerns at all.

In fact they even responded talking about elevated risk of illegal activity

Got softlocked on the location with flare cutscene. Encounter with 4 recons shows 'Stage clear' but locks are still blocking my way. Restarting few times had no other result

Having the same problem here
I tried not using the checkpoint at that point and restarted the game multiple times (this has been happening for days now)
I haven’t tried using a new save file though

for a game that's this late to the battle royal genre it's basically doa. maps too big, ttk is basically instant, bugs/ stuttering is crazy, abilities are underwhelming so far. yeah... nothing worse than being a buggy/unbalanced br in the most saturated market for fps games outclassed by the same people they're trying to copy is a death sentence.

So... nothing to the fishing set that actually makes it better for exploring/combat.

I've got a spot i just drop any materials i no longer need and forget about them but yeah there should really be a trash device of sorts or a recycle machine maybe that turns it into basic construction material.
