What's absurd about it? You started building military fortifications in a foreign country and you're surprised the local people attack you? And then you're surprised when you lose the fight to them, despite you having no combat training whatsoever?

In what way is a Small Shack considered a "military fortification"? You're Logic is kinda flawed there bud.

Anyways, thanks for everyone's help, and suggestions, I figured I'd just start over new since I wasn't too far in. Ended up just building walls first, with a couple of gates, now It seems I can indefefinitely just walk away from the game, and keep it on idle while I mine and stuff.

You have a game ban and probably couldn't beat a KF1 map on HoE

The game is basically just showing you all the options. After the Heist the whole map opens up and you get tons of things to do, but at this point you can pick and choose your favorite mechanics to build around. I wasn't big on the Hacking Stuff or Stealth, so I just turned my V into a Borged out CQC nightmare that fought like an escaped gorilla with a shotgun.

It doesn't work for Linux Mint Cinnamon since this update, I tried to play it, before I didn't need proton experimental because it worked natively, but since this update everything broke, it doesn't work anymore, what a shame, before I played every day, please valve think about linux users

That is why there is steam deck for that purposes.

We're planning to do something in the future that would put you on the same server as other players but not render them or something along those lines. We need to do some technical development to get there first, and everything around this needs design, but thats a compromise for a private gameplay experience without adding additional live service costs.
