Heck yeah I want to play dress-up! And heck yeah it influences my decision if I'll buy or not.

When I first got Arcanum back in 2001 I was ecstatic! That game has a Victorian dress I could prance around in. That's freaking amazing! Gosh I love that.

I have several ways I play games when it comes to dress-up. I play all games without wearing shoes. In other words, my characters in the games don't wear shoes. I go barefoot always! Shoes are banned.

If your game has a Victorian dress in it, I instant buy it for the dress. I then proceed to play through the whole game in the dress.

Which leads me to the main way I play. I will always play with fashion in mind over functionality. For example, if I find a cool looking piece of clothing in the game, whatever it might be, if it catches my fancy then I'll wear that through the whole game. I don't care if it means I die in one hit, I'm wearing it.

It's also worth noting that me playing this way has never stopped me from beating any game I have ever played. From the sound of people's posts here, it hurts their feelings that I play this way, but I'm going to continue to do it.

how cringe , going around asking about character customization in arpg...... there is like 16 different looking presets in the game which will be enough and the system needs no upgrade. if this has any influence on your decision to buy/play that is even more cringe

Character customization existed in Action Role-Playing games early on. It existed in Role-Playing games in general early on. For all intense and purposes, it's always been a thing. Whether or not some developers include it in their game is a choice they make, not the facts of pretending like it never existed.

For the record as well, many Action Role-Playing games that were created are not available on Steam. Nor GOG.

Because the creation kit is more broken than the base game, complete disaster.

The creation kit has nothing to do with that, it's the hard coded executable version number chek within the script extender that causes it to break with every update. That is by design of the script extender and works as intended.

No reason not to pre-order a game on Steam if it interests you. You get to pre-load and usually get a bonus like skins. If the game sucks then you just refund it. Nothing to lose by pre-ordering, but a bit to lose by not doing so.

Well that's not entirely true. You end up hurting other consumers by giving them money before a finished product. This in turn tells them it's okay to not give you completed product. I believe it's one of the reasons why games nowadays release with a lot of bugs and performance issues. It also incentives pay to win items or just cosmetic items that are paid. Rather than obtaining said items during progression. You lose nothing by waiting either until the product is completed either. Sometimes those special items become available later on in the store and cheaper.

Valve doesn't payout pre-orders, they pay money earned on the 30th of the month following the sale or release in the case of pre-orders. What you say would be true for pre-ordering on platforms that don't allow refunds which are quite few today, and it was true over a decade ago when refund policies weren't standard.

But today there's no reason not to do so. You aren't harming consumers, and you don't lose anything yourself.

Personal choice. For me there is no choice. Even after all this time, no one has ever copied Borderlands. Well, apart from Destiny 2, but that went bad years ago.

you've also got Warframe that's pretty close but it's a live service and takes a bit to get into and some of the basic game mechanics on explained to well.

I'm down.
