They're also environmental puzzles. Each new area has new terrain that presents its own challenges. These can include traps that you'll notice in time if you're paying attention, new enemy placements that make you have to rethink how you'll fight them (e.g. in small corridors), new terrain (e.g. poison swamps, deadly drops) that force you to rethink how you navigate or items that are visibly out of reach to let the player know there's more to explore and that they'll be rewarded for doing so.

That's not exclusive to souls-like game. Each games have it at different levels. Everyone will agree the last game I played BG3 is not a soul game, but this game is also full of environmental puzzles.

I understand why. There is some concepts in CO33 that are directly inspired from souls-like games. Bonefires as checkpoint is one is one of them. If you rest, same thing as in souls game, the world around you reset so your are on the go for another killing rampage. The buck stop here for me because CO33 has a story, a thing that generally lacks in soulslike games. CO33 (and the Lies of P) fall in these category because of the "Soulslike" gameplay mechanics. The first one is turn based, the second one not like ER.
