I guess it's a way to keep the combat simple enough you're not wasting half an hour in one. If you guess you might lose the battle, you can reconsider if to take it in another time with more beefy units....or you still attack, lose some, and attack again with another army full HP...
There are already plenty ways to have 2 normal army before turn 40-50 to take fortress if you like,

Narratively, means that if the fortress isn't conquered, in the meantime between turns some units come back or be partially healed and stand to defend it again...

Means that in multiplayer, if you lose a battle, another player just can't 'cheese' up the fortress by just taking the last it but he have to do some effort as well...

If i recruit engineers does that mean i wont get the achievement?

Разработчики перестали нести ответственность за свои слова.
Перестали уважать геймеров, ведь все равно купят.
Так что жди, когда разраб соизволит решить созданную им же проблему. Как говорят вчера в стим он не заходил. А возможно вчера можно было уже прожать кнопку и релизнуть игру. Но ему ♥♥♥*й на тебя, на меня и на остальных.
Я не удивлюсь что даже если игра и релизнится, то она не будет получать какие либо обновления....

больше скажу, он и сегодня не заходил в сеть. я понимаю, разные часовые пояса, но чтобы ни разу не зайти ни днём ни вечером это уже конечно слишком

у разраба мск время. он живёт в Турции…
