Xuanyangzi didn't mention anything about the Chongzen emperor afaik, at least in the english localization. He was more interested in his own goals.

Well, Xuanyangzi clearly mentioned that the "True Dragon's Blood" is special for the resurrection ritual after you defeated the emperor, and it's shown that he was alive after the battle, just unconscious (which is before the patch).

The official artbook/lorebook also says he has somehow "broken the curse of resurrection" after the battle with Wuchang and successfully revived for a time before fallen into the Bo capital and disappearing with his loved one.

So it's always hinted (albeit vaguely) that his resurrection is a success, and he may have survived the whole thing, even before the patch. Not sure how much of the story-telling is lost in the English translation though. But AFAIK, there's not much "censorship" in the story, more like they "extended" the plot about some bosses and made certain things more explicit than the usual Souls-like vague fragmented story-telling. In extremely rushed and not-so-good ways for sure, I guess in response to those unreasonable haters, but I don't really think much, if anything, is censored story-wise, it may well be what the producer always intended to tell right from the start, just hidden under all those vague, confusing, fragmented story-telling of a Souls-like.

Another example would be that the Han soldiers are always portrayed as the good guys, before the patch it's just a note saying those Han soldiers did not choose to escape like the Manchu soldiers, but decided to stay and risk their lives trying to protect the civilians from the monsters. Now after the patch, they become allies fighting alongside the main protagonist against the monsters. Same story, just told more explicitly and blatantly.

The forums just has a lot of haters that just want to invent or hype up negativity. I have finally started another run to experience the patch from the start since the patch landed when I was near the last boss in Bo Capital. So far I am liking the added notes and stories since it does make things a bit clearer and immersive than the super fragmented story telling before the patch where lots of stuff just abruptly ends without much explanations.

I agree only on one thing so far on the complaints, that the nerf on those pot head monster i think went to far. Before they cannot be staggered but now so easily staggered. Therefore removing the threat of suddenly meeting one.

I have 4* Seika and Ashley up at level 105 too, and most of the time Seika is a very good second breaker... but neither of them are the best elements for that version of Oktavia.
Guess I'll have to level up Mito and Himika before I take another crack at her "no 5stars challenge".
