Mommy's going to die eventually so people better hug her while they still can.
Refusing to hug your mommy because you think it's "immature" makes you a bad son, btw.
But if you happen to have an abusive mother, then I understand.

Let us not be so harsh. That phrase and the related momma's boy insult aren't exactly meant to convey that actually hugging your mother is bad. The emphasis of this phrase is on the word "need", and here is a difference between a desire and a necessity. It is just supposed to suggest a hyper-dependence on your mother, as if you are some baby who will wither away and die without its mother's affection[eipmh.com]. You have noted it yourself. Mother is going to die eventually, and a child is expected to ultimately outlive their parents. Eventually we need to be able to stand on our own two feet and continue on when her hugs are no longer available. So yes, you should want to hug your mother, but at the same time, you should not "need" it.

Granted, there is an element of hypocrisy inherent to using this kind of school-yard to suggest somebody is immature though but meh, I suppose everybody is a hypocrite from time to time.

...Does anyone know what sore loser decided to make the rule of relying help from your parents is considered shameful?
Cause in this day and age including the economy... I wonder if they're the same people who bought a house before it became expensive to own one.
Family is more important then ever and everyone has different relations with their parents or relatives.

I get overlying on someone has some shame in it cause you shouldn't just rely on that person forever as they're not going to be around forever.
But the only time you should shame someone for having their parents helping out...
Is when they did something ****ed up. Like... life threatening or trauma inducing levels on someone.

Cause that's the only valid reason why I could see someone shaming them for having their parents/relatives helping them out.

Otherwise there is nothing wrong in being a momma's boy or a daddy's girl.
...Cause eventually no matter what you do time waits for no one and the best thing you can do is try to cherish them while you still have them.

You should know that the only reason we shame is because of it being not normal by the societal standards that we grew up with.

Normalcy is overrated.

I know right? But we gotta live with it regardless. It's what lets us have fantasy in the first place.
