That error doesn't really say much. I think, steam might have messed up your mods files. Try grabbing a copy from the github and see if the issue persists. If it does please follow the directions in the initial post to provide a hugslib log. It should hopefully provide more information on the issue.

So my wife and I installed the free version this morning and both created new characters. Liked what we saw. Now we go to actually play - and cannot connect - getting nothing or a spinning wheel of death. So I'm asking a sincere question - how do you think it looks to someone who was considering purchasing this game that you have a collapsing population, and cannot even keep enough server capacity in place to service said potential new players? Really a bad look. Demo period ends in 2 days - hopefully it's just a surge for Friday evening (but doesn't really help)?

i would say the major issues that i see come from players having main character syndrome and believing that the only experience that matters is their own or that what they are doing is just too funny to be wrong
communities within this game are very vocal about the changes that they do and do not like which under normal circumstances are fine but have on several occasions devolved into death threats against those who authored or pushed the chang
personal attacks are common within the community and the abundance of and excusing of those who are only in the community to troll doesn't help the issues this overall is a space where it is as evident from this chat thread alone extremely difficult to have a good faith conversation within

That is concerning, although I haven't followed that topic, so I am not really in the know.

About the artists though, they could be utilizing them without being leeches. How about making a prestige skin for each character in the game? The system is grindy, boring and the stat bonuses are negligible. Give people something to work towards. They could could be working on new enemy designs, improving maps, making additions to Innards. Instead they have their artist making skin packs. I hate that. I understand how some people don't care, but to me it feels like the developers don't have any respect for their customers. People bought their broken game with hopes of it getting better with time, and now they are just spitting in our faces, asking us to throw them even more money, when they haven't delivered anything substantial in a year of development time.

Is internet required to play this?

There's a specific area in the Ancient Forge where one of the levels are. I go back to that area to do some secret hunting and an arena encounter plays, I beat it, but the exit blocking walls don't disappear. Zombies still spawn and they keep spawning no matter how many I kill..

Did I complete it in the wrong order? Is there an enemy missing? Or is it just bugged?

Similar issue to what people are now experiencing on the Steam Deck even though it was recently identified on Steam as "playable."

Yeah, I had a bunch of stuff disappear today, all of my zero-g regulators. They really need to be more careful with these updates.
