Comparing this game to Origins is the first mistake. Gameplay in Veilguard is aimed at kids. There is no change, and your companions will spew toxic positivity at you the entire time. I felt like I was playing WII fit... There are so many setting I wished I had as a player and turning that off would have made me profoundly happier. Realizing that diffiuclty meant nothing except prolonging the torture was my next big find. I turned it off of Nightmare beat the game and considered whether I should shred the CD for good measure. (its in a box waiting on that fate or perhaps re-gifting. The two pointless companions was unfortunate as they became just another set of abilities you can activate, nothing more and nothing less.

Some people have called it a dumbing down of combat (not entirely untrue).

I think the real crux here is this isn't an RPG and it can't figure out who its intended audience is. It reminds me heavily of darksiders difficulty wise, the way combat feels. It is such an odd mismatch of design choices. The players who are going to enjoy the combat don't know it exists and have no attachment to the IP. (Quite frankly if you love this game, don't wast your money on the other three games they aren't in the same world and not written with you as the intended audience).

As far as the Bioware issue I agree with the original poster here. Mass Effect and Dragon Age: Origins were the last two great games Bioware made. The chance of another true hit from Bioware 0%.

Inquisition is the financially most successful game (skewed info though). Inquisition entire life time of sales have been tracked whereas Origins only ever had its first three months closely tracked. As a player of all four I consider Origins the best (by a landslide). The next two tie and Veilguard isn't really a dragon age game, it uses a few of the same characters, locations, groups but nothing is recognizable against established lore.

All of that said, placing Veilguard by itself as a different world, different genre, different gameplay. Somebody might enjoy it.

It has been a crumbling of quality from there out and Veilguard is about as good as anthem or Andromeda

EA is making the mistake that many writers/publishers make. In their attempt to appeal to everyone they gain an audience of nearly no one. Sad to kill an IP that could have been so successful (Mass Effect is only a game or two away from the same fate).

It's such a unique game, need more!

i notice most of your post are always killer sided even in other topics. We have free hit ghoul, and Marathon man clown running around along with every new killer release having some form of anti loop. but fog vial was too much for you? all it did was make you pay attention more, hide the player who used it scratched marks meaning you could still see others and they already nerfed it so all you had to do was pay attention even less.

but keep that bias tho.

you made a post talking about how Killers don't get nerfed when pre-nerf Made for This lasted from June to November which is longer than Ghoul being in the game and Clown getting his buff

I'll share this again :

1. Plan your gate map route. This is important.
- Look at the arcade gate map and each level; compare with what you deem as easy to progress through without difficulty.
- At the end of each level: Confirm your chosen gate before entering. Wait for your gate to cycle through if it isn't there yet.

2. Know your weaknesses.
- If you struggle against a type of monster family, try to avoid those gates.
- Assuming 5 star gear will breeze you through will be your downfall as even tier 1-2 monsters and traps can still overwhelm, costing you a life.

I soloed my routes based on the above.
- Went down the route with Snarbolax as the boss since it is the easiest for me.
- Avoided fiend and mini monster gates as they give me the most trouble.
- Prioritized Deconstruction Zone and Battle Arenas gates as they are the fastest to traverse.
- Personal preference : no element, poison, fire, shock/frost as last choice gateways
