It was published in 2017, 8 years ago. And at that time it was not widely known about by any stretch.
And while it is oddly hard to find historical word usage across the internet, I did manage to get ai to give me an estimate

Can't help but notice that when I showed how fake your argument is, you stopped responding entirely, despite constantly posting in every other thread. You would think if you truly believed anything you said you would have had an easy way to shut me down, rather than going and hiding elsewhere to continuing to pretend that EOMM hasn't been the term gamers have loosely used to describe any matchmaker that prioritizes engagement for many years now.

Can't say I'm surprised though. If you really didn't expect somebody to call you out on such an obvious, bogus argument, there's no way you had another fake disingenuous retort prepared in case they did, so I guess pretending you didn't see it would be your strongest option.
