Why do new planets all start with an asteroid belt surrounding them?

...buddy, maybe you missed it, but our solar system literally has an asteroid belt. You are going too far out of your way to justify a bad common result in a simulation in defense of something that was recently added, as far as I can tell. Yes, I could just edit the world to my liking, but that completely misses the point of such simulations.

Also, it should be noted that an asteroid belt around the planet is NOT marked as a planetary ring in the game, as you can add rings to the planets with asteroid belts in the editor and it clashes. Even expanding the diameter of the planet causes clashing with the asteroid belts around the planets! Asteroid belts surround the star were the standard since DW:U, as far as I remember, so why you are acting like planetary asteroid belts have ever been normal is beyond me.

Um...what copium are you drinking? The asteroid belt as most commonly referred to (e.g. not the distant shells towards the oort cloud) is between Mars and Jupiter. That is nowhere close to what you stated as "around the star".

If you consider our solar system asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter as "around the sun", then what is your beef with an Earth-like planet having one? In many DW2 games, the home planet is farther out than the 4th+ orbital ring, so the planet belt would actually be further out than our Mars-Jupiter in between field.

You sir, are the one that can't seem to justify anything with actual facts or opinions based on substance.

Go ahead - defend your new wild position please. You state our solar system "literally has an asteroid belt". Are you pretending this far out orbit is something akin to being in direct orbit near the sun? Just as the planet-belts we're discussing? Do you even know how far out our asteroid belt is, or were you not even aware it was between Mars and Jupiter?
