In the end I went Fortress world, and arbites, plan is to grab all the NSS buffing talents early and then see where I am. But I like the notion of half my squad all having heavy weapons, and it feels right for a Fortress world enforcer.

This is true, but Kick + Shield Bash + Shotgun + Reckless Rush is +6 versatility in one turn. Kick & shield bash is free, you also have the option to throw Grenades for free which is another +1. With Reckless Rush you should be able to easily cover the entire field most of the time without having to depend on long range weapons.

Fortress World is a good pick and fun thematically. Its definitely one of the strongest origins you can pick. Whatever you end up going will work though, this isn't a game you need to optimize even on unfair.

I dont sympathize for the Xenon, but it would be boring with out them.

Kinda wish they had a setting where a random sector after they are wiped off the map, they suddenly get a massive strike force to recapture a sector.

Or even a console command to forcibly give them a sector.

Um...what copium are you drinking? The asteroid belt as most commonly referred to (e.g. not the distant shells towards the oort cloud) is between Mars and Jupiter. That is nowhere close to what you stated as "around the star".

If you consider our solar system asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter as "around the sun", then what is your beef with an Earth-like planet having one? In many DW2 games, the home planet is farther out than the 4th+ orbital ring, so the planet belt would actually be further out than our Mars-Jupiter in between field.

You sir, are the one that can't seem to justify anything with actual facts or opinions based on substance.

Go ahead - defend your new wild position please. You state our solar system "literally has an asteroid belt". Are you pretending this far out orbit is something akin to being in direct orbit near the sun? Just as the planet-belts we're discussing? Do you even know how far out our asteroid belt is, or were you not even aware it was between Mars and Jupiter?

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.

In today's Expedition, on Normal as usual, I claimed my first tile and my first Forest and was attacked by two zombies, and then another zombie from at least two tiles away joined the fight. I don't use cheat codes to see the map before I play, and I am getting really tired of feeling like this is expected. Playing below mega-brutal should not mean being attacked right at the start of the game. Although with zombies maliciously placed to ambush my fighters around every Forest in the starting half of the map on the last four Expeditions, including this one, I don't know why I ever expect anything different.

This has been around for years. Not sure it's going to be fixed or just left in.

It's a pain in the ass to build anything in the level editor. Simple tasks like lining up putting surfaces is beyond clunky. If you don't use the snap feature, you have to use microscope levels of zoom to even try and match the surfaces together. You can't flip objects, or really make your own. Some of the putting surface tiles don't have any way to match up with other tiles, making many of them unusable.

The grouping feature is broken to the point where you can't use it. Spawning a ball is all over the place, and results in the camera facing the wrong way when you begin a hole.

The most basic thing they could have implemented was to have a feature that allowed edges to snap together. How did they overlook this? It's a wonder anyone's created custom courses at all.
