There's no right answer to that question, and you'll find all 3 being claimed as the best or worst.

Mage = great infinite ammo pew pew staff. Easiest imo.
Fighter = high melee damage. Sucks to be bullied by ranged enemies.
Cleric = best ultimate weapon (BFG 9000, kinda). Other weapons are mediocre.
