I love MGS4. I still replay it every year or two. MGS4 is the only reason I still own a PS3. I need it on Steam.

It can be fun if you don't go into it with too much expectations.
Forget about tanks, artillery, ships, planes and any other advanced tool of warfare and you'll be fine.

If you expect to be using any of the mentioned above you'll be disappointed. Those are only for the big clans and they'll make sure it stays that way (They make bases around high-end materials so they're the only ones with access).

If you join them in hopes of being a user of these tools, you will not, you will be put in a logistics squad to support the main roster's usage of said tools.

In short: You will farm materials and build the tanks/artillery/ships/planes, but they will be the ones to use them. The moment you get fed up with it you'll get kicked.


But if you're fine with playing infantry then yeah, it can be quite fun indeed. Especially when you team up with other front liners to cooperate. Logistics are important but immensely boring though, if you want to be a positive influence on your faction, you'd at least make as much equipment as you spend yourself. That way you're not a drain on faction resources. If everyone did this in one of the factions, that faction would win every war.

If you don't want to do that you can just join each fight with the pistol you spawn with then loot stuff from the battlefield, that equipment is considered lost anyway and you won't just waste stuff by running forward and then die without getting any kills. If you find RPGs and MGs and bring it back to the FOB if you don't find any current use for it, then you're a champion of the cause.

The side with the material advantage is the side that wins 9/10 times.

No you can use them all the time, most supplies are public, the stuff that isn’t is clearly marked, and aren’t used that often (nukes, railway guns, 150mm spg’s, super heavy tanks, ect.), 05% of the game can be experienced by a solo player

Try checking if it has made a save file yet and if their is one delete it with steam cloud turned off.

Already tried, I tried a lot of things I can find on internet like what you said or setting the game in "High Performance" in the settings. I even tried uninstall and reinstall and it still doesn't work.

Interesting, so the BR mode is going to be a Portal option? very interesting. I'm not into BR modes myself but if we can play the normal maps with AI solo or coop that would be fantastic for sure

also one last bit of info you will be able to make a custom game in the open beta and play against ai
