It ignores that this is how the immune system of the video game industry's ecosystem works since the first crash. He made an objectionable claim, and there's evidence to prove he's objectively incorrect. That's it, thus the verdict is clear, and gets the appropriate label.

Yes he's incorrect about the toning down, if I wasn't clear about that, however, as stated before, I can at least understand what his problem is. It's simple. He doesn't like the missing black on her pants, which to him is less appealing to that area to look at. Sure, that's his opinion, and I understand it. That's about it. Saying she's gonna be toned down going forward is stretching it, and silly. Now, if they make that change in the future, then okay, I can see why there might be complaints. Albeit.. nothing I'd find worth complaining about.

Since the very definition itself factually applies, yes. It's quite certain, if you want to stretch it so badly go right ahead on trying to understand the other party. It's just very impractical, superfluous and ultimately irrelevant toward the case.

You might be old; but i have gatekept many IPs from these kinds of individual, one of the best successful ones i had was for Devil May Cry against a terrible reboot, before DMC5's release, gatekeeping the fans to weaken their demand on the market was a vital part of the movement in order to keep the very demand itself consistent enough(which involve even simple such as character design changes). "Sparking more argument" as your frame it is abstract, to any action there's always a measured reaction that goes along with it.

The other party hating me for exercising my function is irrelevent too, they only dig their own proverbial grave. There's no care in the world for those that yaps at a prosecutor, as said party takes the stand, besides concequences.
