Is it about the adult games? I didn't play one of these and don't care but maybe it coincides with the recent ruling of US and EU in which adult content in future will require meticulous age verification?

If that's the case I sincerely can't blame steam for that considering setting up proper age verification isn't easy and the fines they'd face are steep

I can't tell why both US and EU are pushing this asinine law considering most adult content sites are incapable of proper age verification and if children were the main concern, then parents could set up device locks but it is what it is
It's not about adult games. It's in response to subsection 15 of the new distributor agreement which says any and all products that ever, retroactively and without limit, fall afoul of any and all banks, payment processors, credit companies, ISPs, or landlords that valve ever deals with, who they wont name and you cannot contact, will be removed without appeal.

Steam has an age filter, any of these games cant be scene without either searching for the name directly, or having a toggle under a burried part of your account settings turned on. Places like Visa and Mastercard just want the material hard banned. That's why Fear and Hunger 2 is bannefd from Ich.io and by rulle will be banned from steam as soon as there is any complaint. ITs abandoning a free stable market to a Visa run oligarchy.

We've explained it many times, woke never likes the answer. And we never told anyone they couldn't play the games they wanted too LOL!!!

Again this is why woke has no business in entertainment, nobody is allowed an opinion OUTSIDE of woke, and it's literally driving people away.

And it's not just game studios in trouble, ask the theater companies how well they're doing pushing all this woke garbage haha!

DayZ unfortunately is filled with cheaters on official that ruin the game. Even on community servers it's a constant fight. I just want a solo experience on DayZ without having to set up servers to play before I waste my time with this game again.

Setting up a server is relatively easy though so why not just do it? Not like it's going to hog any resources when you play solo.

Then you can also customise starting loadouts etc.
