You literally CANNOT please modern gamers. The massive amount of changes that have been made, the work that went into it.. for a game that just launched, from developers who LISTEN and respond to their playerbase.. for a game that has NO MICROTRANSACTIONS of any kind, or premium currency.. no way to pay-to-win, no way to pay for the best cosmetics.. this kind of care and hardwork is kind of unheard of in today's landscape... & just look at the comments.

FUNCOM, I for one, am extremely pleased and surprised at how much work you guys have put into making this game what everyone wants.. of course you can't please everyone, but I see the effort and love. Thank you for that, and I'm very glad to see that a game that I love so much is going to be in the hands of people who care. Much appreciated.
I for one am greatly DISPLEASED with their changes. Almost every patch has been followed by severe bugs that make the game impossible to enjoy, and they keep taking AWAY things that people want instead of fixing the root of the issue. PVE players don't have access to T6 gear outside DD? Lets cut the DD in half and anger the PVP community instead of adding a couple protected nodes to hagga basin. Pentashield bases too hard to raid? Lets remove the ability to make them entirely and ignore the builders who liked the look instead of just making their HP and damage boxes reasonable. Worm is bugging out? Lets make touching ANY part of it instant death and erasure despite the fact that they're literally used to get around in the books. Resources aren't being distributed as well as we'd hoped and the economy is in shambles because of dupers? Lets make flour sand stressful to collect and drop the price of higher-tier crafted resources, including things that in lore should be worth a fortune.

At this point I'm convinced the devs have no clue what the hell they're doing anymore. You are not going to just brush aside all of the *legitimate* criticism they're getting by going "modern gamers can't be pleased". I liked how most of the stuff at launch worked. It's been getting nothing but downgrades since. Hell, last patch I couldn't play for a day or two because I was getting sunstroke in the middle of the night even in shadows.

Well, you all kept saying we’d never get PvE only servers… and yet, here we are split into two parts. Why? Because they promised PvP would never be forced. And as those words were spoken, the line was drawn the DD will remain split, and more balancing will happen.

Think about it Medium and Large spice blows in PvE areas, every single Ecolab tile on the map inside PvE zones too. If that balance finally happens, maybe the Deep Desert will actually be functional. Until then… the Deep Desert part is all yours Cheaters and PVPers may rule it all. And to the developers I believe they know exactly what they are doing. But here’s the reality PvP is not saving this game, it’s tearing it apart. I’m not blaming the whole PvP community far from it. The real problem is the griefers and cheaters, some of them big name streamers, who openly teach people how to exploit base raids, kill players farming T6 loot, and just generally be toxic. After dying and losing your loot a couple of times like that… people quit. Many of us PvE players left, which in turn made many PvP players leave. Again I’m not blaming the PvP community, only the griefers, cheaters, dupers, and selfish exploiters (on both sides) who ruined it.

And here’s the thing this wouldn’t have been nearly as bad if we’d had proper PvE only and PvP only servers from the start. On a PvE server, you can’t touch someone else’s loot, buildings, or vehicles unless you’ve got permission removing 70% of the annoyance caused by all kinds of players, PvP and PvE alike... People cried about splitting the servers into PvP and PvE for months before the game even launched everyone laughed… and look where we are now. Honestly, it would have been the best choice from the start. Many upcoming PvPvE games are already moving in that direction, and for good reason. PvPvE attracts more cheaters, and PvE players simply don’t thrive in a highly competitive environment no matter how you spin it.

Yet developers keep promoting co op while saying “PvP isn’t forced.” Well, if that’s the promise, then they should expect us to hold them to it and act accordingly.
Like I always say I’d rather see a game succeed and maybe even become GOTY or better. In the end, though, it’s their investment, not mine. I only paid 80 euros for this game, and I’ve had an amazing time playing it. For me, it’s a solid title, high on my playlist, and it has given me countless hours of joy. I’m sure it will give me even more once the content updates arrive. And if it fails or gets unplugged, too bad there are plenty of other games out there… 650 hours in, and I still haven’t felt the need to kill a single player.

WTF None of my saves now work. All mods are incompatible. No warning. No fix ????

First try now, re-subbed to the mod, cleared cache etc. No more error on the saves in the list. Saves load fine! Thanks for fixing this!

This game is over 25 years old and I still play it to this day. I remember the DEMO only days and spending all my free time on the old Shrapnel Forums. I miss those days a lot. Back when development of mods, open discussion of SE IV were lively and exciting. It is true, good times always come with a time limit. They expire quickly.
