That's just how MOBAs are. You either commit and accept it's gonna be a long road or you don't and quit before it gets good. It's not new player friendly by design, i'm afraid.

Imagine if this game hadn't had the bad idea of having rocket launchers on ornithopters, the PvP would probably still be interesting now. Only men with guns and knives.

Don't forget that before it was fixed, the griefers were simply ramming the thopters into the players on the sand and killing them.

As long as there is a way, griefers will grief other players. Most PvP in open worlds like this one consists of griefers killing those who can't protect themselves.
