Viscera Cleanup Detail 2 - Development Log
Greetings, janitors!

As we continue to work toward the goal of a VCD 2 and a port of the original levels, we'll be posting here as regularly as we can manage, to keep everyone up to date on what's going on in between major announcements.

We're confident we can put something together, but it's still early days for the project, and we have a long road ahead, with a great many things subject to change.

So be sure check out the latest announcement to see what we're planning for it, and then head on back here to post your feedback.

I'll post updates here as and when I can, detailing smaller changes and developments as we make them, as well as answer any queries.

RULES:
Please avoid posting of spam, bug reports, support questions, self promoting, or anything not relevant to VCD 2 and its development.

Keep it classy, folks.

Cool !
is there going to be new mini stories across levels like we had with bob? or perhaps an even bigger story this time?

will the drop-pod be a requirement for workshop levels?
This is very exciting news to hear and with new gimmick levels to enjoy like we had with Core Sample and Revolutionary Robots. I would take a complete guess that in some of theses new levels there could be notes that reference to the first game in some way though as for ending messages I really can't wait to read what fruity disaster notes you guys come up with It's just a joy and laughter reading them for how comical it is.

I do have a few future questions of my own for VCD 2

Will there be anther Executive Janitor legacy treasure hunt like we had with our dear friend Bob? Because that was fun yet interesting collecting every page of his before finding him dead in Unearthly Excavation.

Will there be more collectibles that requires multiplayer like Vulcan Affair did?

Will we get a Alien movie reference like back in Evil Science we had the collectible Face hugger?

Anyways I can't wait to see more future screen shots or gameplay samples of VCD 2! It surprises me greatly that it's happening so I wish you all luck for VCD2 path.

Love everything I'm hearing about the direction of development so far.

From what I'm reading, it sounds like the player role will be expanded from cleaner, to also handyman. If that's the case, I can't wait. Love the idea of restoring machinery and structures, like... finding a corridor blocked by a broken pipe and a jet of stream, finding a valve, turning off the steam, reattaching the dislodged pipe, then turning the valve again to open up something else. Even small tasks like that would be fun.

Or a mining facility where you find a half drilled tunnel and a large boring machine with a massive cone covered in lots of smaller, damaged/blunted cones. These cones would need to be replaced so the borer can be activated and finish drilling through the tunnel to reveal a new area.

Or having a fabricator on the drop pod, then finding broken lights but no replacement. So you insert the broken light into the fabricator, scan it in, then use it to create endless replacements. Or maybe not endless. Maybe other materials would need to be converted first.

Either way, I'm excited for all the possibilities. Good luck!
Super excited! Loved VCD, and sounds like, from what you've described, I'll only love VCD 2 even more! As a potential idea, maybe make a VCD/VCD 2 Discord? So you can better organize general chatter about the game, and ideas/feedback some other area
Hype train rolling out.
Sounds promising
Sick
clean up on floor one, I am all in
will there be 'pop culture' inspired levels like the one similar to the 'Event Horizon" level? Its a great movie and i would love to clean up aftermath scenes from popular media. like, Cleaning John Wicks house or the nightclub, the trap house from Saw 2, the farm from X/Pearl, the apartment building from Leon the Professional. (just a few ideas)

One thing I would personally absolutely love is different ways to dispose of waste, like the pool with lazer sharks in The Vulcan Affair (personally my favorite level) or the giant woodchipper pointed at the neighbor's yard in House of Horror
Tossing things into the same looking furnace every level gets kind of repetitive after a while
So so so so so excited about this:luv:
