^ I knew we would come to this with the die-hards. I have played 1v1 for years in both War3 and SC2. How you people not get tired of TvPvZ matches I can't get. SG offers better melee exp. SC2 is so figured it's only good for streamers $$ but not for regular ladder.

Like in pretty much every ARPG: You either dodge it or block it.

Learn the timing of his bomb throws and avoid it then attack! attack! attack!
Its preparing to attack again? Get away then avoid the bomb and hit its ugly mug again.

Rinse and repeat until the darn thing croaks. Thats how you defeat every monster in this game. You can do it!

EDIT: Almost forgot! Its nothing important, really, but I wanted to say that your profile pic looks delicious! Where did you get that cute chicken icon? I hope its not from a KFC game! :P

Ark has 30k peak players

So by those metrics, Dune is technically better at 37k, meaning doing as you said makes the game more dead.

Also going the other direction a full PVP survival game:
Rust has 114k peak


Games like Ark only have population because of the rinse/wipe/start over cycle, dune does not have that, so you will never retain those people that like starting over fresh in games like minecraft/ark/etc

You can start over in Dune. I'm on my fourth server now.

You can't compare the number in this game now against a game that is 5 or 10 years old. The number playing this game in 3 months will probably be less than in ARK now. Maybe even less than Conan Exiles. It is headed that way.

I never said this game was dead, but that has been posted here many times and I've never agreed with that. The population trend is close to normal for a game like this, but hard to say if it will stay that way.

Yes, Rust is one of the best designed PvP games from what I've read about it (never played it). PvP is best with a fast progression, with no intent that you will invest heavily in that session. And then just start over, rinse, repeat. Other very successful games used that strategy too. PUBG I think is one.

That is exactly why this game is not well suited to the type of PvP that it has. There is not rinse/repeat cycle. You invest heavily and then if you play PvP, you lose heavily. Not a good combination to retain players.

I've played some PvP games in the past that had low risk of losing progress, but fun PvP. Those were fun. Not this style of PvP. Never liked in ARK (tried it). Never even tried it in Conan Exiles, since it is essentially the same style as Conan Exiles.

This game also has not had a major content update drop yet, so saying its dead before the first major update is being ignorant to the true numbers as well. Its been 2 months almost of no new content, the game will keep losing people till it reaches it plateau, unless new content is added that draws people back in, thats the cycle of games like this.

Though the first game is amazing, the second one has an independent story. There are only a few connections with the first one, such as the characters in the first game appear to advance the plot. But that wouldn't hinder you to understand the plot of the second one if you don't play the first.

Yeah, it's 2025 and people think BIOS is magic and you should never ever touch it or it'll fall off or something.

But no, this is changing a setting, not updating the BIOS. Which you might want to do for stability and feature reasons occasionally.

For example, my old motherboard didn't support a GPU feature, until they released a BIOS update.
