Why does there need to be a slider when you can completely turn them off?

If anything, the slider needs to be only to decrease the time between the attacks as you can already permanently prevent them altogether. That way, those that want to be attacked and fight, don't have to wait 10 minutes or so, they can get attacked every 30 seconds.

Sometimes they do this every update specifically to keep certain illogical behaviors in, such as the laser cannon sometimes multiplying air force and sending bugs flying a few km into the sky. So that they try to pile on your laser cannon during a death rave so they can 'get high,' contributing to their self-destruction and drawing negative influences like helldivers towards the raves.

Even if it's a negative experience, they leave a trail of intel establishing just how high they got.

It doesn't, but my point is that Firefly would have to re-implement any/all of those changes from scratch because of GPLv3. It wouldn't just be as simple as copying UCP changes in, test them a bit, and calling it good.

Firefly still has a pretty small team working on this, and it seems pretty clear to me they were focused on developing the actual Definitive Edition part of the game instead. Any UCP changes were competing with just getting the game out the door in a playable state in the first place.

I'm relatively certain at least some more substantial AI fixes are going to happen over the course of Firefly's support here given how vociferous we've been in asking for it, so hopefully those will come soon. Other bits of the UCP may simply not align with Firefly's vision for the game.

That is a prepostorous way of reasoning based on a flawed understanding of copyright. They own the source code, UCP assembly patches are no use to them. They spend 10% of the time UCP needs to spend in order to get the same feature working. GPLv3 is not an intellectual property right so they can take UCP ideas whenever they want. If they are in doubt, they can contact the UCP to ask if they can use any code under a different license or no license at all if the license is a problem to them.

Try using the warpforward command to warp into your base, or find out the coordinates and use the warp command to get inside. I'm not actually sure if you can warp into bases but it may be worth a shot.
