You know how people online are. They're all for variety and diversity, until they see something they don't like and suddenly it's somehow offensive and shouldn't exist or something. Because their view is the only correct view and 'diversity' just means everyone agreeing with them.

I absolutely hate overly-sexualized designs. I am sick of seeing them and really do not care for them at all.

I will defend other people's right to enjoy them, and their place in games. So long as alternatives exist to please others. Because it doesn't matter if I hate it, so long as I don't have it forced upon me. If people are allowed their fetish wear, I should be allowed mine.

Now, this brings up the unending can of worms that I get told what I want is "Too unrealistic" or "too anime" when I can literally grab real world historical examples of it while others get to run around in two pieces of twine and some ducttape, but that's beside the point. Let them run around in two pieces of twine and some ducttape if ample alternatives exist. I'll enjoy crushing them, and they'll enjoy playing them. Everybody wins.

Ooh what they say about the succubi? Id love them to bring that back

Not much, but them and vampires have been constant talking points. Maybe they'll mix the two and vampires will come with both sexy attire and frilly attire.

Oh if we allowed to use such language then let me join in - I absolutely hate people that came over and censored what used to be my hobby before said people were even born. I own all the previous AoW games and i was buying those on release starting with AoW2. Even though i have disk copies still i bought steam ones again, i like them that much. And yet AoW4 bearing an overwhelming current day design stench is a major reason for me not to buy it. There are others but this is important one i want to talk about.

Earlier in the comments there was an image with nymph changes over the titles that illustrates the path gamedev took and it looks terrible. AoW used to be set in a powerfantasy world, with sexy females and strong males, not consultant-approved gray slop of safe character design. It used to be an eyecandy as much as it was a strategic game.

I dont mind there being ugly women or covered head-to-toe girlbosses with battleaxes. If those were an option, an addition, not a complete eradication of female sexuality as we have it now. You may argue with it by bringing your modern standards but i compare the previous games and the current one - there is glaringly obvious difference of a very particular kind.

This is a game, a fantasy game about magic and unicorns and whatsnot. it can be ALL unrealistic with its design and it was. Now though... if AoW4 was a standalone title me and many others, i suspect, would not even bother to care about it.

For you and the other people who use "overly-sexualized" term i have two questions: what is not "overly-sexualized" but just sexualized? And then what is not sexualized at all? Please provide your definition and examples.

Everything About Monetization After Early Access

Nah they ain't paying him, he got banned in another Pax Dei update thread the other day. He does have a valid point about the monetization, it has always been in the disclosure. He just doesn't have the tact while explaining himself. I assume he believes he's smarter than everyone else and has a bit of narcissistic tendency.

The fact is, most people didn't read it and now they are upset. I could care less about a subscription game. I currently pay for a few and would drop one of them for Pax Dei but not if they plan on releasing the game out of early access in the current state it is in. With only three and a half months left in the year and them talking about Q4 2025 coming out of early access to the subscription model they are shooting themselves in the foot. It will fail because no one is going to pay monthly to play a dead game relying heavily on social interaction.

I personally enjoy subscription based games, it keeps certain types of players out of the ecosystem because if they get banned they loose everything they worked towards and have to buy the game, re-sub, farm/grind, etc.. so it keeps a lot of the rabble out for the cost of what... 2 AAA title games a year?

TLDR:
Harakternik needs to chill.
People need to learn how to read and hold themselves accountable.
I would love to see this game flourish but I'm not paying a monthly sub for an incomplete game.

This was supposed to be the game but if it doesn't work out there will be another I got 300hrs out of my investment in Pax Dei and made a ton of new friends in the guild I joined in Verse 1. We had a great time ruling over the Jura region and it was well worth the $100.
I see no point, not even in the slightest, in engaging with idiots who trash a small team of developers and blatantly lie. All because they lack the basic awareness to read what they’re paying for or what the developers are saying. As for narcissism—you missed the mark. I’m not out here talking like Trump.
I fully agree with the rest of your points. And I’d be the first to criticize the developers if they genuinely mess up. But as a dedicated fan of EVE Online, I still believe this will turn out to be a great project that could last decades, just like EVE Online.
This is a small team without a billion-dollar budget. So, I’m ready to patiently wait for the game’s development. And so far, I see no clear signs of a scam or failure.

That's one of the best responses I've had on Steam discussions. I apologize for the narcissist bit that was uncalled for.
From other responses I've seen in the Pax Dei discussions I misjudged you. I see your frustration after reading more of these posts myself.

You hit the nail on the head in that last sentence, this game and it's development team are not a scam and as of now in early access it is not a failure.
But I believe mainframe needs too step back and reconsider the games current state before talking about monetization and coming out of early access.

I hope for the best with this game and would love to see it flourish over the next several years. It has so much potential but the development so far has been lackluster.
