A computer is not a car. Tuning your PC is the most nebulous term I've ever heard. You can mess with clockspeeds and that's about it. Sure, there are settings but game settings are usually just low med high, this isn't "tuning" a PC. There are also tools to check for issues with your Windows install, but you can straight up go from a blank Windows install and still have issues running this game.

The problem with this remaster is that the devs likely don't have enough knowledge on optimizing UE. This is a known problem across UE games that have performance issues. Players would know if their PC is at fault if they have problems running other games, but when they boot up this game and it's the only game with issues then it's obviously not the PC.

I don't even think you know what car tuning is LMAO. Tuning a car is as you describe.

OK here goes. Updated chipset drivers for your motherboard, settings in your bios, current bios for your mobo. My Asus motherboard has at least 60 settings that can affect game play. Your video card drivers, your monitor drivers, your sound drivers (I have had sound card drivers that affected game play) conflicting software on your system the list goes on an on. There are literally hundreds of things you can and need to do to your PC for optimal game play. Just because the game has low, med and high settings does not mean you have everything setup correctly on your end.

Hundreds of settings and you essentially only listed driver updates and BIOS settings? The former, everyone should be doing anyway. The latter are largely fan curves/speeds, clockspeeds, XMP, and other misc settings. Almost none of your BIOS settings should affect performance to the point of causing crashing except clockspeeds and power settings. This also really isn't equivalent to tuning a car in terms of complexity or importance.

Improperly or not tuning a car after significant modifications can destroy an engine. You'd essentially have to go out of your way to wreck a computer with BIOS settings.

"conflicting software on your system" People still have issues with Oblivion after clean Windows installs.

i'm not putting that effort in again

1. again, just because you think not being able to savescum as easily is a bad thing isn't a flaw with the game's design. the levels in this game are small enough that you're really not going to be losing more than 20-30 minutes of progress if you die at a really inopportune time.

2. i really dont understand what your point about "death mechanics" is. are you talking about having to go pick your ♥♥♥♥ back up off the ground? because, again, you can turn that off if you don't like it. are you talking about enemy spawns? sometimes they can be a little unforgiving but, again, if you don't like that, you can just set the difficulty to mercy.

3. lucky looter isn't necessary at all. by just being even slightly thorough during your searches and being patient you can easily grab enough loot to fill up your whole carry weight. during my first playthrough i was literally drowning in so much cash so quickly that money was meaningless about 10 hours in. traits aren't needed.

4. unturned is a multiplayer game. i don't even have to say anything else. i can absolutely guarantee only the tiniest fraction of people are putting 120 hours into unturned singleplayer. also, again, there's literally no reason for your opinion of this game to be a reflection of what you think about other games. you should be evaluating games on their own or compared to games made by their own developer--not completely different games. unturned and silverfish share literally one similarity and that's that they're open-world.

5. i have >30 hours in the game i've already seen everything there is to do and interacted with all of the factions. it's incomplete, yeah, but the question is "is it worth it even in its current state?" i say yes, because if you just want a game where you can loot and shoot then this game has that. of course if you're the kind of person that needs a storyline then you'll find it lacking. that's entirely up to personal preference. also ive literally perfectly told you what the difference in the save system is already. there is exactly one. the only difference between this game's saving and stalker's normal saving is that you can only save at beds and on level load in this game.

6. the game is clearly trying to emulate some parts that are realistic and some parts that are not. it has cartoonish gun physics and ragdoll physics for a "realistic" game, doesn't have a thirst system (not realistic) and its encumbrance limits are /very/ generous. if you went into this game expecting it to be like STALKER anomaly then you just plainly went into it with the wrong expectations. just because it isn't realistic enough for you in some places doesn't mean they can't add realistic-adjacent ideas in other places. also, do you really think "realism" is a valid critique for a videogame? also yeah its very easy for a casual gamer because the gunplay is easy and the entire game revolves around gunplay so

clearly i've ruffled your feathers by replying to your post, is your first instinct when getting criticism back to jump to personal insults? if you're going to whinge in a personal forum you could atleast have the backbone to handle getting a clap-back--and it wasn't even a harsh one.
