People complaining in forms like these is what keeping the issues alive. And I definitely do NOT require to send them further information.
Seriously? It's all there in the body of my original message: you navigate to the key binding menu, try to change your keys, hit "apply" and voila - there it is. It's that simple.
I don't need to open a Jira ticket and add "steps to reproduce".

So why not instead of trying to pass the buck to their community, they'll be proactive and own their game?

It's not the end of it, though. Not everyone is having that issue. So, there's something different in your set up. It could be anything. We've seen issues with brand of keyboard, kind of antivirus, someone using mods, brand of CPU, integrated/dedicated graphics card, making the changes while the controller is not plugged in, making the changes while the controller IS plugged in, there are loads of reasons why this would be happening for you and not for everyone who tries to keybind.

If they're asking for more information, it's because they need more information.

it really isn't OP had opened this thread 2 years ago complaining about an issue. i just started to replay the game with a friend since co-op was added. i did the same thing and i see 4 other people, one in 2023, 2 in 2024, and now you've got 2 (someone else in 2025 on top of myself just a few hours ago) and this issue still persists. a person from the development team has responded before. and there is yet another reply from a different person on the development team just confirming status on their investigating these issues a few months ago...

Sorry - "KeyMap.xml" and it might be "ShipModeKeyMap.xml" or "CommonKeyMap.xml" etc - delete those files for a re-set, you could also delete all files in that "Config" folder.

Although as much as I hate the situation i think people forget that steam only allow devs to file for 5000 keys, any key requests over that amount are handled in a case by case basis, I think the devs have done a terrible job making it clear that to give 5000 people keys would then potentially make x number of players after not be guaranteed the same free key. Because they're too poor to have the finances for a retirement plan, so they're banking on the kids being there to take care of them instead.
