I have tried everything to help stop this, I have:

E-mailed 2K
Turned off real time scanning
Verified all of the files in the games
Re-Installed both the games and steam
Deleted all of the filed in steam except SteamApps and Steam.exe

Nothing has worked, I tried to stop my McAffe subscripton but apparently thats not an option, i need help because otherwie I can't play 70% of my games and any others that get updates untill August. Does anyone have any suggestions with things I could do? (Steam have'nt done anything so I felt i had to ask the community)

every time i try to play civ 5 i get steam servers are to busy to handle your request error code 53 does anyone know what it is and how to fix

two days of this now, and its getting to be annoying. why is it happening? i have checked the game cache to see if that helped, it did not.

When I try to launch from steam, it starts 'completing installation' and then gives me the above message. I've been getting this same message for a few days now. I'm using windows 8 btw

I've tried running the game in administrator, tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, reinstalling steam, deleting the appmanifests, uninstalling all mods, and yet I get Error Code 53 when I try to

I'm having trouble playing Borderlands or L4D2 - but not other games.
This stupid error has me stopped like a lead wall. I've tried the following:

* Connected directly to the net

the same thing happened with my borderlands 2, and i've clicked the support.steam link says i have to delete steam.exe and yadda yadda ♥♥♥♥ing yada.
