yes, you can buy pretty good looking armor sets from vendors, from other players on the Galactic Trade Network, or you can craft them with the Armormech crew skill, even as a F2P, you can even customize their colours with dye moduls

It's total. Hellfire Blast is a mode bar toggle. When you have it active and you hit an enemy with a blast, your character will deal 24d6 of damage but take -1 Con damage unless they're immune to ability damage. That will also be the damage they deal once per round to all enemies within melee striking range if you have the shield active. If you turn off Hellfire blast, the blasts will only deal 18d6 damage but without the -1 Con damage.
