1: It's not about making something more difficult it's about making something to easy.
I feel like that was non-productive semantics. Regardless, I still don't get your mindset in this particular case, which was the actual point there... well, no... the actual point there was it doesn't matter if we understand each other there on this because we can both play how we want without it affecting the other.

2: It's that attitude that is the real game killer.
Except options don't kill games.,. because people can do the options they want. This is almost like you complaining about a mod that a ton of other people use when you don't have to use any mods. Many mods do make the game easier and they're often very popular. So no, the attitude of you play how you want and others can play as they want isn't a game killer.

Every single game that adds features that make the game trivial end up essentially dying and left with a small minority of players that enjoy games that are to easy just to have a power trip.
KarN, I've seen people make this claim many a time with games that were commercial successes. I've seen this claim said and then new games come out still doing the things doomers claim will kill gaming, and those games end up still being commercial successes. I'm just saying that this seems alarmist and feelings based rather than anything factual or based in objectivity.

3: I understand how I feel about something is going to be different to the next person. How ever I look at facts.
But you don't. You just look at your own feelings and use that to claim that's how everyone else is going to feel.

every game that adds features that trivialise the game end up falling off as players get bored.
Except some OPTIONAL feature trivializing the game for you doesn't mean t trivializes it for/to everyone else. That's why what you're saying is based on your feelings and or personal experience... which is different for a variety of players. And again, it is OPTIONAL.

4: Again this is the honeymoon phase. Once people get passed that then what?
You didn't answer my question, you just repeated yourself and didn't actually address anything I've said. How long is this "honeymoon phase"? You do realize a honeymoon phase ends and sometimes people STILL like something, so how long?

Yes they are fun as they are something new to the franchise and they hype is there. What happens when the hype has died off and people see the game behind the mounts.
I don't know what you're talking about. What happens if people just keep liking the mounts? Or what if people just stop using them when they don't feel like it? [/quote]
So firstly if the people saying they want the game to be easy get their way then those of us that want a challenge end up disappointed and left wanting. So no one side doesn't get to play how they want either way. Either the game will be to hard for some or to easy for others. What I don't get is this brain dead take that 'games should be easy for me as I don't like being challenged'. Whats the point in playing if the you accomplish nothing. Over coming challenges is far more rewarding but seems like people just want the easy way through every thing.

As for options not killing games. Your right optional things don't kill games. How ever when a game is mainly designed around a feature and leaves the rest of the game lacking because of to much focus put on one thing, is that optional? Seems to me that is limiting choice. Also you used an example of me complaining about a mod that other people use when I don't have to use the mod. How does this even apply to the game in question? There are no mods. So why would I complain about them. Also I love modding games to get the experience I want. So forcing words down my throat proves nothing.

Yeah some people make claims about games that are just false. Not something I have ever done and I have been right about every single game that I have left feedback on. Time will be the judge. You are just making assumptions that I am talking out of my ass because I just don't like something. You would be wrong.

Also your opinion of what is a success is more than likely differs heavily to the actual devs and publishers that need to make a certain amount of money. When it comes to modern gaming, these monetary amounts are rarely reached and thus we have studio closures in the numbers never before seen. The biggest reason is publishers listening to the wrong people. Forcing devs to make bad games that few actually enjoy. When I said I look at facts, I'm talking about things like SteamDB, the charts on there are extremely accurate. Doesn't take a genius to put 2 and 2 together.
Feelings in general matter very little when facts are put forth.

As I said, designing a game around a feature that makes a game to easy, means other aspects of the game that would otherwise make the game great, get overlooked. I've also stated that when you play multiplayer with 3 other people which is what the game is balanced around, you get 4 buggy's + 4 worker ants + 4 player characters all attacking a target. At that point the players can sit back and watch their buggy's take out a wolf spider with ease. Whats the point in playing. Where is the challenge? It because even more obvious when you have 4 orb weaver buggy's. They only serve to make the game more trivial.

Trivial games especially in the survival genre, never do well. Since Obsidian expanded their team, they are going to want to see a higher monetary return. If the game is to trivial and becomes boring to quickly because everything the game pushes you to do revolves around using the buggy's. I mean it's even part of the main quest line. I know I don't need to use the buggy's and that in itself is a choice. How ever when the games main selling point is the buggy's. What is getting left out. I've also said that the changes to combat have also made the game easier and the things like the dodge and how bugs have highly increased attack lunge range to counter the dodge, This is sloppy and weak game design. Things like combat are lacking because so much focus has been put on the buggy system.

Once the honeymoon phase is over far more people will think the way I do. My honeymoon phase ended the moment I finished the current content after 2 days. Yet there is far more content in Grounded 2 at launch compared to 1. When I realised that I had already done everything and explored every nook and cranny of the current map in just 2 days playing on the hardest difficulty, yeah that honeymoon phase ending fast.

What you don't seem to get is the overall decline in the gaming industry, in terms of quality games. Indie games are one thing but the amount of so called AAA games that flop no days because they pander to minorities. I'm sorry if you don't agree but facts don't care about feelings. I just don't want to see a game franchise I enjoy fall off because they listened to those that think every thing is to hard. Grounded 1 did so well only after all the updates and the devs actually listening to real community of their game and not the people that play the game once and never touch it again or the people that tried it and thought it was to difficult. The atmosphere of Grounded 1 has been diminished into nothingness because now you can basically fast travel (as the mounts are to fast) and skip random encounters that make survival games so good.
