Are you supposed to have to choose between which upgrades to go for on a weapon because it seems currently that picking any upgrade on any equipment costs the same regardless whether it's upgrading to level 1 or level 7.

At the start of the race, you need to carefully pass the first sharp turn without going into the sand, and then cut corners on the grass until you find yourself in 3-5 place. Then just drive, braking on sharp turns, so as not to lose much speed. Remember where accidents happen and do not crash into them and you will come first.
It seems difficult, but the key is to be among the first places in the race on the first lap and not make mistakes. Then the scripts with accidents will bring you to first place, everything is staged there for victory :)

Fr though, the lack of awareness with this is a bit excessive. People need to put themselves into the shoes of this sole amateur dev and his first serious solo-distribution/IP.

I would not even blame him if he gets fed up with the pressure and negativity, puts out what work he has done since the last update, then submits it for alpha then straight up stops there at this point. Unless he can look beyond the nonsense and stay frosty about things, which would be cool because this first game still has loads of potential, and it's fun.

appreciate the answers. i get it now. i have bases in all the systems, guessing i can change the difficulty, then bounce to touch 'em all. waaaaay easier without all the grind... if it works. and just to complain... anyone that goes through the ringer to touch all the bases should get a free plushie. just sayin.

While there are tricks supposedly to get around it, your bases on one save are not available to you on any other save. To do it (the right way), you have to start a new save in PD and go from scratch. If you only care about the achievement just remind yourself to not get bogged down by side activities and focus on the goal.

You don't need the perfect ride or the perfect base. I found that speed running the Artemis series was the easiest for me. You can do the portal/single glyph trick but you still will need to get the blue suns warp upgrade because there is usually a blocker system that will prevent you from getting to a gateway system.
