Why game crashes suddenly

After pressing Start Game on the main menu, it always crashes on the loading screen about 40% and automatically exits back to desktop

I don't think it will ever get fixed. The game is over 5 years old at this point. They've clearly abandoned it.

Isn't it the same for the other SoS and RF games? It's actually the modders that are fixing them.

to play the harder difficulties one is supposed to play with a team.

1 skull difficulty - alone
2 skull difficulty - with 2 players
3 skull difficulty - with 3 players
4 skull difficulty - with 4 players

**it be better if one could just add AI members to your team that fight automaticly (even if somewhat weak)
--- especially since the autofinder option only allowes a team of 2 people... not a full 4 man team..

should.. but never going to happen as this game is abandoned

--another issue is gear... on those harder difficultires.. even upgraded green gear will not cut it,, and it can take quite a few levels before blue, purple and orange gear starts dropping.

it should be that this droprate is massibly improved..
-so on 1 skull nothing drops thats less than green, on 2 skull nothing thats less than blue, on 3 skull nothing drops thats less than purple, and on 4 skull (max difficulty) all drops will be orange (legendary gear)

-likewise the droprate of potions and items should also be larger on higher difficulty.
(the droprate of consumables should be multiplied by the skulls.. so each time a potion (or food) drops in 1 skull difficultulty, you should get 2 in 2 skull difficulty, 3 in 3 skull and 4 in 4 skull)

that still would make it hard to do.. but at least that gives you a fighting chance...

but again will never happen, game is abadoned.
