I dont really see how they are similar.. They are JRPGs.. but thats about it. Mechanic wise they are all different, the music approach is very different also. They way the story is told is compeltely different. I both like breath of fire (BoF4 is my favorite) and suikoden 2 but they are not close to be like saga frontier 2, imo at least

Well you arent gonna have a 1to1 but there are some similarities, Suikoden 2 for example has duels like this game so on and so forth

Do you have "skip cutscenes" enabled in the settings by any chance?

Hm. The retro gritty feel of the old game is a huge part of its charm. p4 is a complete 180 from it, which is why it doesnt have nearly as much glory as the OG. Because the Third Sanctuary's darkness spread into the lobby area and brought the first Sanctuary back. We saw that happen.
