I've noticed the same thing. The pick up range was nerfed either intentionally or not and it's affecting the SFH too.

I bought the game being more or less SURE there would be a big DLC. I will as per today never again buy anything from capcom. This is a worst case disappointment. If I could do as I want to I would fly overthere and kick them asses around brutally for neglecting this game so hard... I think it is time to get that shareholder-greed-fascism out of the gaming industry. And all other 'creative' industries...

the darksiders franchise died off after the second game but was revived by the sister team to the one who originally made it, but it has taken a long time for them to get to a upcoming fourth game

Plausible, keeping in mind the AI doesn't move while in Ambush stance (switches to default and moves before switching back into Ambush).
Depends on exactly how many turns it took. If there's at least one where the region wasn't visible, it could very easily have recruited a lord and started recruiting.
If Katarin's army walked through Druzhina Enclave's capital, she does start with that settlement - and it doesn't think twice about trespassing if it can reach a player.

Like if it´s comparable to WH2, while this doesn´t have the dynamic thingy - it would be (given VH difficulty) 60% less recruitment costs, 15% less upkeep, and plus 5 / 3 global / local recruitment slots. Most likely they also have a higher base income. On normal difficulty they would probably be like the player, with few exceptions, but the AI can´t handle that very well. At least in WH2 - i haven´t tested this in WH3.

Faction Potential contains all of those difficulty-setting economic handicaps now so a Normal AI can roll a Legendary potential - some Major factions (Kairos and N'kari) are almost guaranteed to.
Difficulty setting adds to every faction's roll, then global recruitment slots and duration effects are specific to Very Hard and Legendary (as the others used to be).

I was thinking that they should add a full sandbox mode where we have unlimited materials and stuff kind of like Minecraft creative or grounded where you can use any material to buy or build anything in the game for people to play if the game gets too hard or when they complete the game
