I felt similarly at first, but as I started to unlock more mods for each of them my opinion shifted quite a lot. I started pretty much with just Bruiser since I liked the shield concept, but then I unlocked a couple of good mods on Wrangler and now they're probably my favorite of the four, which is saying a lot since they were originally my least favorite.

If none of the characters' abilities speak to you then I'd suggest waiting until you've unlocked enough skill points to experiment with. What might seem like an underwhelming or mundane ability may turn into something far more appealing or involved with the correct mods.

J/k It depends whats going on in the match. If its at the end and the last survivor lost the hatch and got caught at the gate I almost always let them go unless they were a toxic brat to me during the match. If they start doing this early on the match it actually irritates me because its an attempt to guilt trip me into a farming match and I just want to play the game normally.

if you dont have the option enabeld like howler said then you can only farm things in the portal worlds stuff in the overworld doesn't respawn
