So, Rio has received a lot of criticism over the years, and is a rather controversial character. Controversy ranges from "Rio did nothing wrong" to [spoilers]"I'll never, ever forgive her for doing that to Alice!"[/spoiler]

Thing is, however... Rio's actions are completely moral, within the confines of the school of ethics to which she subscribes.

Rio is an example of an extremely intelligent and ethical character who subscribes to the ethical school of Utilitarianism. And Chapter 2-2 is all about the ethical blind spot of the the Utilitarian school of ethics. Rio believes (and, not wrongly so, according to your approach to Ethics) that all decisions should be made for the benefit of everyone, even if it requires the sacrifice of a single person.

Obviously, this failing of Utilitarian ethics is pointed out by Sensei and the GDD, so Rio modifies her approach to Utilitarian ethics (without completely changing her opinion) by the Decagrammaton chapter. She now believes that the sacrifice of a person is never justified, as one should never stop trying to save everyone. Unfortunately, there's another hole in her ethics: Except for me. I'm a sinner, and it's okay for me to sacrifice my own life for the benefit of everyone else.

It's due to the contributions of the friends that she never knew that she had (due to her own low emotional intelligence) that Rio is dissuaded from doing exactly that.

I think she's actually a very relatable character, to me at least. I know what it's like to have low emotional intelligence and even lower self-esteem, with unrealistic self-expectations so I actually really like Rio these days, as I find her relatable.

Even though she doesn't have the preferred body type that I usually go for....

It's crazy how condescending some people are to mock me or insult me for a simple question. I know perfectly well that the number of sales doesn't correspond to the number of copies sold. Besides, I'm not referring to that... and this kind of comment, please:

What they mean is that "join 300,000 players who already have the game," they don't mean "join 300,000 player battles"... DUH."

Yes, I understand English even though it's not my native language. On the other hand, you should learn to use your brain if you have one... How can you reach players who, for the most part, no longer play the game? Or maybe haven't played it yet, or will never play it? And anyway, no matter the game in question, as the days and weeks go by, the more the player peaks decrease, it's simply pure logic.

I'm not questioning the quality of the game, nor the number of copies sold, which is great, but it's not multiplatform, and it's absolutely stupid to put this kind of erroneous information in a trailer. It would have been more honest to say "already 300,000 copies sold" than to make us believe that this game will have a player base solid enough to be played in co-op for years.

In any case, it's a play on words, it's half-deceptive marketing, your thoughts are worthless to me. I've been on Steam since the platform opened, and I know how bad this community has become over the past few years. Nevertheless, it's very good to have sold 300,000 copies; it proves that it must be a very good game, but marketing is an area you don't master, but it can be learned...
