I was bumping heads with a lot of people because they thought they knew what was best about the game. They clearly don't, they've barely touched the game. They claim to have played since 2018 but, in fact, played a few games in 2018, quit, came back for the new developers and have less than 100 hours played. I bet the developer's never touched the game until they got control of it.

100% and just the blind praise is enough to infuriate anyone because they will never admit they were wrong, they just double down. MA was known for making poorly performing and buggy maps. I remember their one desert map lasted a full day and it was an actual slideshow with 15 fps when it released and died in short order, haven't seen it since. This game is in absolute shambles I'm about to uninstall again, people don't make spawns and or the entire other team is doing respawn meta and destroying any effort you throw into the game. It's spiritually dead at this point with the physical to follow. It's a weird feeling knowing they were trying to revive the game but it feels more dead than ever. 1 full server full of sweats is not an ideal environment for new players.

Hey everyone, here's a quick update on the progress: I've added a comprehensive advanced Friend-or-Foe configuration menu that should effectively allow for literally any entity to be registered, and persist between game sessions. What happens to 12 scouts when a pack of Velociraptors show up? Want to see medics trying to heal explosive barrels? All of that has been extremely fun to build and play with. I've also added mini sentries, and special death sequences (eg. spycicle, golden items, decapitations, dissolution). That with the optimizations and modernized path finding... well, I can't wait to show you guys!

I wanted to run it past 60fps, well I guess technically fake frames past 60. If you uncap the game for real then it messes with the game in certain ways and makes it harder, so I thought I'd just use frame gen/smooth motion to do it. But it seems to always cap it at 30fps or something? I've tried doing everything that involves unlocking the framerate, then capping it back to 60 elsewhere, and then enabling smooth motion, but it is still way below 60 really. It's a weird game.

Have the KSA people said anything about what kind of *game* they want to make yet? All I can find is talk about tech. That's where KSP's development stalled at some point - lots of cool moving parts, but absolutely no idea about how to bring that together into a game. Something with arcs and loops, gates and hoops. A beginning and a middle and an end.

KSP is a fantastic *toy* but it was never a *game*. I hope KSA considers this, because if I just want to lego a rocket together and fly around... Well, I have KSP.

I agree that they need to figure this part out before anyone should get TOO optimistic about KSA, but to be fair, KSP2 could only ever have become a game with a horribly broken tech base. At least RW is doing that right: They want to make sure that the tech foundation is solid, and I think that's a good thing.

Let's hope they tackle the gaming aspect next, then I'm going to become optimistic about it.

STALKER Anomaly (the freeplay mod) since the game is heavily inspired by the series, and leans onto the open world free roam aspect.

System Shock/Deus Ex since the game is an immersive sim, there are many intricate systems and they interacts with each other naturally. You also don't get to see quest markers or even your current whereabouts on the map, you have to figure out yourself from clues in notes and your surroundings. This game is also meant to be played for many times, each time with you discovering something new or realizing what those "flavor text" was hinting about.

ADACA (the dev's previous game), the dev cannot cram more features they wanted into the Zone Patrol mode of ADACA so they decided to create a full game to implement all their visions. Project Silverfish inherits or assimilates some of the worldbuilding in ADACA as well.
