Project Silverfish

Project Silverfish

So what type of game is this?
I'm curious about it, but..

If you could describe this game as if it was 3 other games combined, which 3 games would you say it's like?

STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl, STALKER: Clear Sky and STALKER: Call of Pripyat :P /jk

But seriously, STALKER's DNA runs super deep in this, but it also has elements of extraction shooters like Escape From Tarkov (but single player) and maybe just a tiny smidgen of puzzle solving/investigation like... Blue Prince? (struggling to think of a good comparison here).
Stalker + escape from tarkov + something with lizardmen

Does Skyrim count?

No...?

... Gex?

I was gonna say total warhammer 2 but I'm not sure a comparison to a strategy game with lizardmen would get the point across.

Stalker-lite.

I'm in it with the Stalker Extraction side, but it's a stripped down arcadey version. But that's a good thing. I can rely on headshots to do the job here. Stalker had weird bullet math.
The sims + Phantasmagoria + Toonstruck

Fight me!

Edit: Toonstruck is one word, not two.
its got some aspects of fallout nv and of course heavy stalker influences as well lots of stealth and hiding / crate looting and heavy run and gun fighting at times too

it has its own game vibe though definitely and you can play it a lot of different ways as well
but its not finished and a lot of the game is still rough around the edges for sure

used to have a demo you could try to see if you liked it but it got removed
if you played any stalker type games before and liked them youll probably like this one a lot
but remember its still a beta with some typical beta glitch issues and a lot of empty areas as well

All that sounds like you have to call your neighbor to come open jars for you.

I do, her name is Shelly and she's really helpful.
That's beside the point though. I bet those three combination of games makes you salivate over the thought of playing PS.

yeah, this guy nails it on the head with a crit.
STALKER Anomaly (the freeplay mod) since the game is heavily inspired by the series, and leans onto the open world free roam aspect.

System Shock/Deus Ex since the game is an immersive sim, there are many intricate systems and they interacts with each other naturally. You also don't get to see quest markers or even your current whereabouts on the map, you have to figure out yourself from clues in notes and your surroundings. This game is also meant to be played for many times, each time with you discovering something new or realizing what those "flavor text" was hinting about.

ADACA (the dev's previous game), the dev cannot cram more features they wanted into the Zone Patrol mode of ADACA so they decided to create a full game to implement all their visions. Project Silverfish inherits or assimilates some of the worldbuilding in ADACA as well.

Having played both games extensively, I'd say it's fairly similar both in vibes and in anomalies. Both games revolve around companies/societies who were far too overconfident in experimental technology without stopping to consider the risks, and who ended up wiping themselves out and leaving a pretty big mess for you to deal with. Project Silverfish also has a variety of anomalies that can either help or hurt you, ranging from static anomalies to anomalous entities (most of which you can use against your enemies if you're clever). It does also have light extraction mechanics (though this depends on your difficulty, some difficulties have you drop all but a few chosen items in a backpack when you die, while others have you permanently lose all but a few chosen items or instead let you reload a save when you die).
I would say it's closest to the STALKER games, with some hints of Fallout and Tarkov, and some lore similarities to Pacific Drive.
I do appreciate the multiple solutions to most problems.

Also, I started off with 110% movement speed, found four artifacts that boost movement speed another 10% each, then found four dandelions for double extra high jumps. I stand on high vantage points and scout my prey. I'll rush in with a hail of gunfire or the swing of an axe that also is on fire. It's fun to bounce around while hosing the poor Inheritorz with lead and energy blasts.
