To be fair to OP, I think many game devs are getting away too easily to just slapping 4k textures on everything and call it a day, tremendously increasing the game's disk space. We don't really need 4k textures for small pebbles on the ground and unless you have an eye ♥♥♥♥♥♥ you won't really notice the difference of a 4k texture or a 2k texture of an NPC's eyes.

And I'm quite sure in many cases 3D models would look just equally good with half of their polygons shaved off via topology optimization. In a fast-paced fighting situation, do you really pay attention to how smooth the polygons of a Bloodsucker's fingers look?

Yes, modern CPUs and GPUs are very powerful and their power can make up for unoptimized game architecture, but relying on that is not necessarily a good thing. That's like hiring an additional 4 people because your manager doesn't know how to do their job properly, so instead of trying to make your manager do the work properly you just hire extra people to pick up the work.

Back in my day we used to complain when PC games didn't ship with high res textures. Calling devs lazy for console ports.

Now we have people complaining when they do ship with high res textures, also calling devs bad at their job.

Not to mention an SSD back in the day, when games were small, was $400 for 120gb Sata. Now you can get a 4TB Nvme for $200.

its not a good feature, auto battle is mobile game garbage, but it is what it is lol..

killing 50 mobs in bdo takes like 1 minute, usually youre killing thousands of mobs a play session, no offence but it seems u didnt even finish the tutorial for bdo

the whole point of games like bdo and maplestory is mindlessly killing mobs for hours. blue protocol isnt like either of those games, auto battle is just lazy

In BDO it's not about mindlessly killing mobs for hours.
It's a sandbox MMO, the whole point is doing ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING to raise your family rank and just adventure.
Even creating new characters cause character slots have quests tied on them.

to get strong and do any of the content in the game you need to grind mobs for hundreds if not thousands of hours. can u never touch any of the content and just be a crafter or a fisher? sure. but thats side content.

i have thousands of hours in bdo.
