Don't AMD GPUs and don't buy cheap NVIDIA aib models. Never had coil-whine problem since Maxwell but almost every second rdna GPU I tested, had coil-whine.

Doesn't matter the model, it's just bad luck if you get it, but, it can go away with time if you are lucky.

I've heard people have had it on the top models and the base models.

I've been lucky and got it for the first time on my 5060ti, which was extra annoying as it's in an htpc on all day, but it's cleared up a few months on.

I guess the best protection against it is to buy from amazon as you can return it then, where as other stores won't accept coil whine as a valid reason.

In two months of modding (my first immersive looting mod was on July 15, 2025) and a week of communication planning, I demonstrated with facts what an incompetent person who truly applies himself to an activity can do. In the first month, I even had to learn how to make mods. No one helped me, even though I asked for help at first: I only got ♥♥♥♥.
I can say with certainty that either Donkey Crew is doing it again (see their past) or that something serious has happened to the team (family problems, serious illnesses...). I don't see any other justification for an attitude that seems downright bad faith to those who know the team.
This team has demonstrated over time that it has serious lapses in conscience and gratitude towards those who have always supported them, even in bad times, because I'm a supporter of second chances, but these guys want a bit too many.
I have always bought their games and I know them well: the talent is there, but in life it is better to deal with people who may not be exceptional but are serious.
