Power sockets work fine, far as I can tell. I can extend them pretty far and they'll work, assuming I'm not trying to take them through load zones.

Goofy ah question, but are you sure you don't have power leeches disrupting facility power?

They don't work fine, after a certain distance they become unpowered. This is fair enough across a load zone, but when the socket is just across the room in the same area while you still have LOS with it it's beyond stupid.

Can you provide a screenshot? I'm fairly certain there is a load zone in between.

A pretty divisive topic probably.
As some people really like the complex build crafting, some don't.
But one thing is clear... in Rogue trader you level many times. And you have many character.
In particular as DLC keep coming. The result is that you spend an immenso amount of time in managing leveling and load-out.
Too heavy for me even for the fisrt run... but As i like to replay Oulcat Games is for the narrative choices. A Nighmere for repeatability.

So some idea, divided in fully beneficial and opinionated.

Fully beneficial

1) Leveling UI and mechanic need to be fast and flawless. Don0t mean to be disrespectful but RT leveling UI is bad. The two main problems are the immense list of perk to select that without a smart search function for keywords and the fact that you have to close and interrupt leveling to check your inventory and character sheet. Decades of RPG that let you upgrade skill and with a cross near the stat with all your character sheet in view to balance.
And I have to exit, screenshot it and open the screen on the secondary monitor... WTF

2) Ad auto level for people that like to do that. And a decent one maybe selecting between few options/archetype. It's easy to do, you need to do some game testing. So simply select let's say 3 different build per character that you feel are fun to play and usefull.

Opinionated:

1) I'm here more for the story, so I would like a little simpler leveling but still rewarding. The rule that you need to feel the impact of every perk you select. If you don't see it becouse is a +1 somewhere than it's not worth it, or should integrated in some paralel linear progression. AKA out of the perk and in to the (+) button near a skill.

2) For you character full customization that for sure. For secondary character I think should be more streamlined. As the character ask you to select between few alternative she/he have chosen. So really necessary give you the possibility to transform Cassia in an absolute brute meele tank... so that his story and voice line make no sense?
Their leveling options should follow their stile, maybe even with option that "unlock's" with you story choices or alignment. Strengthening your main strong point.

In this way you save the build crafting. Imagine all Reddit post discussion if the NPC X upgrade unlocked by heretical or dogmatic path are better. Or if you make more callous or tolerant our favorite Inquisitor.

This reduce the perk to browse in the moment making leveling faster and at the same time increase the repeatability becosue with new story choices you unlock new build options.

Thinking the spear is the strongest weapon is wild. Absolutely bonkers take. I like the spear. I like simple. It can even be kinda swag. But literally everything else has way more potential. Anytime I spear in multiplayer, I hardly do anything because everyone else wiped the room while I was steadily poking something.
