Another thread on another character with improvement ideas. This time its Scarlet Witch.

Although I am not much of a fan of the in game character I really admire the passion of the players who are. They see something admirable and challenging in using the Scarlet that I don't. That's why I read a lot what they say. And from what I gather they want to see Scarlet improved...

I also can't help but notice Players that dislike her "auto lock". Hell I would be lying if I didn't say I don't like it much either. But a lot of players do like it, so thats enough of a reason to keep it. But both parties need to be happy.

So after playing as her for a good while what I see is that Scarlet Witch does not need much of a rework. The way I see it is it all comes down to just really changing how her primary attack Chaos Control operates and making it less annoying. And in doing so it will improve her secondary attack Chthonian Burst and her Ultimate, PURRO K-AOS!... This will also allow Scarlet Witch to be less dependent on using Chaos Control as her primary a means to Kill.

*Wait, improve all 3 of her attacks? Make Chaos Control less annoying? Less dependent on using? How?*

Let me explain... its lengthy but its simple.

Chaos Control:

-Keep Chaos Control dmg as is at 80 damage a second.

- Now the big thing.... Make it so Chaos Control branches and links up to 3 enemies within the 20 meter long distance line of sight when firing. But for every enemy linked the damage would be shared per target.

(So 80 dmg per second would get split up among and shared up to 3 targets.)

(It links to enemies like Adam Warlocks Avatar of Life Stream does to allies. But instead its just your normal Chaos Control beam flow that does damage.)


*How does this help make Chaos Control less annoying when targeted by it?*

(1v1 she could melt someone with a focused Chaos Control, kinda like how it is now. But as multiple heroes team up on her (lore wise they would need too) then Chaos Control gets a lot weaker when used on a enemy with their team mates anywhere near as the damage output would be shared making Chaos Control a lot weaker and less imposing then continuously "auto lock" zapping a poor poor target.)

Chthonian Burst:

Chthonian Burst to be increased from 4 to 8 Charges.

(Chthonian Burst has a natural 0.2 recharge rate. And it sucks.

But also remember that each hit from Chaos Control recharges Chthonian Burst by 0.08 per hit.

But now since Chaos Control can link up to 3 enemies that recharge rate will also shoot up exponentially since Chaos Control will be hitting multiple targets at a time. Allowing up to 0.08x3 per hit for quicker recharges for Chthonian Burst. And that means able to shoot Chthonian Bursts more often.)

Reality Eraser/Ultimate:

The Ultimate stays as is. Sure it has a long wind up but it needs to be do its insta kill capabilities.

(Chaos Control being able to engage with multiple targets would also allow Scarlet Witch to gain her Ultimate a lot faster do to the being able to hit more targets. Potentially 3 times faster then usual. Thus increasing her Ult % like Moon Knight does and allowing her Ult be more available and thus making it more viable.)

So what this aims to fix?

Scarlet Witch is less dependent on needing to use Chaos Control as the main means for her offense and it becomes more of a tool to use to recharge Chthonian Burst and drive up her Ultimate %.

Chaos Control with its hated auto lock is now more situational do to how it gets weaker as it branches off. But against single targets it keeps its full power. So it still good to protect those back line Supports from dives and yourself in pesky 1v1 self defense situations, or nabbing a single enemy moving to far head off their front line alone.

It will even be good against 2v1 match ups against certain 250hp Heroes as it will do 40+dmg a hit against both.

And there will be those moments where Chaos Control would be able to kill off multiple wounded low hp enemies which would be cool to do too.

(Example:
-In a the midst of teams fighting Chaos Control links 3 targets, 1 dies.
-Another one gets linked, now 3 again.
-2 die.
-Chaos Control full power focused on 1. They die.)


... see how well this can work? Now imagine her other abilities mixed in.
