Electronic Arts has region locked the expansion packs for Spore.

It was available for purchase in my region about a year or two ago, then it was quietly region locked for some reason. What made them change their mind?

I'm not a representative for Electronic Arts.

You'll need to ask that question somewhere they will respond to it.

If you mean me... I clearly stated that soulsikes are infamous for having impenetrable and obscure quest design.

I DID say that Wuchang is fairer than other games because a) essential NPCs literally tell you where they go and b) the game will ALWAYS display a portrait of a character next to a shrine teleport if an interaction is available (you need to unlock the shrine first though), just teleport there, find the NPC and talk to them and the quests won't be broken. Doesn't necessarily mean you will exactly know what the heck is even going on but as far as soulslikes are concerned I felt Wuchang had a much easier to follow main and NPC quest system than certain other games.

It's stil nothing I prefer, I do not understand why soulslikes cannot give you a proper story like any other regular RPG. But Wuchang was far less annoying in that regard than some other titles.

I would agree a couple days earlier but having done 3 runs to get the secret ending, I say its one of the most unfair games as far the quests. Having done perfectly 15 steps of He Yuzai and Fang Yao quests and having it failed at the very last step because you talk to them in the wrong order its pure trolling and disrespectful
Also getting an item most of the times locks you out of something other, thats literally forcing you at a minimum of 4 playthroughs

i might phrase it as increasing the base stats. base being the, well, base form of your tokens.

personally, if i saw "buffs all x by y" i would still wonder if it means tokens on the board, tokens in the deck, or both. i feel like it's important to be clear exactly what a power-up does.

in that respect, a preview would be a nice feature too. that way you could actually see what it's going to do. that would be helpful with other vague effects, like the one that says something like "makes the token twice as effective." tokens can have so many different effects, often multiple on a single one, that i don't really know what it's going to do.

No you just have access to the beta 2 days early if you pre order it or were part of the battlefield Labs or got a key from one of the creators playing on twitch and twitch drop.

There I'll argue. All or nothing is the least contributing argument there is and that's the option you present when you pooh-pooh changing your game to be whatever you'd like it to be.

At this point in the CK franchise life cycle refusing to consider mods or learning yourself is the equivalent of arguing for VHS tapes.

My opinion is that Paradox should introduce a set of start dates that are in most ways equivalent to the 'default' start dates but which have a particular partition of the map, such as the West or the Orient (or both) or whatever. I think you may have missed the part where I said this.
What I did say, which you have caught onto, is that I think it's absurd to say that people should mod something out of the game then simultaneously say it's good that Paradox should add it to begin with, such as the Orient expansion, especially if a mod already exists to add it to the game, such as Oriental Empires. If people should require mods to remove the Orient, then why shouldn't they require mods to add it? Why should Paradox add the Orient, something already provided by mods, but not add map partitions, something already provided by mods? Why is one feature more or less essential than the other?


I assume the answer for Paradox is 'money', but I also assume you're not being paid by Paradox, so I direct the question to you instead of them.

What I'm saying to the 'mod it is not very useful to the discussion' toss off is that It is the useless argument in the discussion and it makes ya sound like a computer grandpa who needs to hand their Iphone to their nephew to change ring tones. "I shouldn't have to" I find pretty weak reasoning for something that continues to evolve and updates. You should have to do things to your game to keep it playing how you want it to as it changes. While you can and should voice whatever opinion you have at some point they are going to do something you do not like and you can do something about that besides angry posts and/or stop playing.

If all you want to ever do is have what you had when you bought it lock down that beta. If all you ever want to do with your Iphone is make local calls (or watch the VHS tapes) more power to ya too. Both will do so much more though. Learning the technologies is a good thing and what ya really ought to do to get something far closer to exactly what you want no matter what happens.

Therefore, "not bothered to uphold them". The solution is simple, you just choose to flame and avoid it.

1) I am not compatible with 99% of people. In a 3k player game I won't find compatible people to preteam with.
2) I shouldn't have to preteam. This isn't the 90's. Matchmaking is literal public info. Copy/paste some code. Oh wait, the game DOES have matchmaking, it just doesn't separate the solos from the premades.
3) I don't exist to feed the fun and satisfaction of premades, so I'll play elsewhere until something is done about it.
4) This game isn't worth money in its current state and player count.
