Great accuracy, damage, and range. If you can hit heads it's a monster. It also lets me play Sniper more forward and with the team instead of all the way back with a Fusil.
I was doing alright with the firerate variant. Lets you put out a whole hell of a lot more damage a lot faster, even if it still takes 5 or 6 shots to put a single Majoris in an execute state.

Should be around 4 shots for damage/hs variant. (take all the headshot perks)

In order to enable FSR 3 Frame Generation, Windows 10 Operating Systems must enable Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling. This can be done by following theses steps:

- Open Settings (Windows key + I) → System → Display → Graphics settings, then enable the ‘Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling’ option.
- Once you make this change, restart your PC for the setting to take effect.

The Elemental Staff

"It triggers elemental scar" does seem to only happen on attacks, and attacks that connect at that. That said, based on the target in question's stats, they can also resist the hex when it happens (or if they have the elemental shield buff active). Note too that while it is reasonably strong, I don't believe it (or any other weapon's chance to auto-cast a spell) scales with your stats/skill/spell level too. At least, it didn't seem to change when passing it around my other allies, or myself when I tried it out initially.

"It deals additional fire/ice/lightning damage": Based on all the other weapons I've seen when hitting, it seems to be a chance to deal a % of the melee damage as elemental damage. I'm not sure of the specifics of it at all. I think the chance, regardless of enhancement level, is fixed. I think the enhancement level does determine the % of the melee damage. I'm unsure it's before or after various physical damage calculations... I assume after however.

"Is "enhances your spells" the only thing it does for your spellcasting?" I think so yeah.

One of the things with the staff, which is rare in general outside of canes (which drain MP per shot) is that it has the "it is wielded by the power of force" enchantment. This makes its accuracy and damage scale from your casting and magic device skills. Rather than staff and tactics. The staff itself isn't that bad in terms of stats too.

For a dedicated caster, this would make it usable as an actual melee attack. Should the need arise.

So, if you're a dedicated caster, is it the best weapon? Not by any means no. It's certainly decent until you find something with a higher spellpower bonus. And maybe something that gives resistances and/or other useful things, like mana cost reduction.

On my long running file, I gave the staff to one of my allies that can use the "bladestorm" ability for multiple hits per turn per weapon. Seems modestly more consistent that way (though the ally doesn't always use bladstorm too of course).
