Honest feedback on the current version of the game (Early Access)

I deliberately gave the game a second chance – and I'm unfortunately massively disappointed.
Technical Condition & Bugs

The game seems unfinished and poorly implemented in many respects. I can easily exit the game world, encounter test areas, hidden or unfinished assets, scattered loot, incorrect enemy placement, and more. Even outside the map, the FPS drops significantly – this simply shouldn't be possible. In the main map, there are floating houses, missing ground textures, and the like, which is simply embarrassing for a project with such a large development team.

I'm playing on a powerful system (RX 7800 XT, Ryzen 9 5900X, 32 GB RAM, 1080p), but the performance is still unacceptable. Despite slight improvements over previous versions, I still experience severe stuttering. FSR 3 further exacerbates the problem: instead of 120 FPS, the game feels like a slideshow at 25 frames per second. The UI crashes regularly, especially when using upscaling techniques or changing graphics settings.

Gameplay & Atmosphere

What's most disappointing isn't just the technology, but the game's complete lack of soul.

It feels like a haphazard mix of Fallout 4, Dark Souls, Elden Ring, and Chernobyl—but without the heart and soul of those titles. The fights are clunky, the animations often break, hit feedback is lacking, and the stabbing and punching animations are sometimes ridiculously implemented (e.g., enemies aren't hit correctly even though you're standing directly in front of them). Enemies perform super jumps of over 300 meters, which completely breaks the immersion.

The character's visuals are more reminiscent of 2019 graphics standards, her hair looks like Haribo gummy bears, and the game generally lacks a consistent art style or identity. Everything seems to have been thrown together from different kits – nothing really fits together.

The so-called "Gigachad Woman" (see video: https://streamable.com/z7ig9g) is a prime example of the problem: She's neither cool nor believable, but rather seems like a desperate attempt at a meme that doesn't fit into the game.

Conclusion & Expectations for Early Access

And before anyone comes up with the "It's Early Access" argument: No. That's no excuse.

An Early Access game should be playable, stable, and largely functional. However, what's being offered here isn't Early Access, but a paid beta – if not an early alpha. We, as players, are paying to get something that at least fundamentally works – not to replace the developers' QA team.

The fact that a studio with this size team delivers such an immature product is unacceptable and a red rag. Especially considering how promising its predecessor was. The current title seems overambitious, yet haphazard, with a misguided focus on a Souls-like combat system that doesn't suit the game at all.

My advice: Anyone hoping for an immersive open-world experience should steer clear of this for now. The game should have gone much further in the direction of Skyrim, Tainted Grail, or story-driven exploration instead of half-baked "Souls-like" territory.

Rating: Massively disappointed. Not recommended in this state.

Been gaming for 30 years.
Had my days of competitive glory in UT2k4 and CoD², and kept playing multiplayer games across the years.
I knew only one game which asked to change my effing BIOS to run, and it was that garbage chinese spyware cheap ripoff that is Valorant. The excuse was that Intels new CPUs had P-cores and E-cores and could be understood as using two rigs to play a single game.
I said f that back then. It eventually did something, in time, which allowed me to play anyway. (and I don't because it sucks)
And now that I've been craving for some shooting fun, Battlefield 6 gets announced with an Open Beta, gets me interested and somewhat excited, only to be faced with a message saying I have to modify my BIOS.

You explain to me how that's not an issue for:
League of Legends
DOTA 2
Counter Strike
Call of Duty
Valorant now
Marvel Rivals
Apex Legends
PUBG
World of Whatever
The Finals
Starcraft 2
R6 Siege
Or that little indie game Fortnite
Or any previous Battlefield titles
Or any other game since games are games

But now we have to allow intrusive BS to run yet another overhyped EA product?

Maybe one day we'll go full Nintendo and have to also allow them to remotely brick our PCs.

You'll all pre-order anyway. After all, it's already turned on by default in your BIOS so it's not an issue.
Oh but there is more.

Secure boot was compromised years ago (Mainly for Windows 10). Ever since Microsoft has been pushing Windows 11. So have greedy corporate AAA game companies like EA.

Since the launch of the Steam Deck, Linux gaming compatibility exploded every indie dev wants that green check mark. Except AAA game companies. They want to control the market and shaft the indie devs who are making better games with fewer resources. I switched to Linux completely years ago and have been pretty active in the community to help develop methods to make Linux gaming easier for the average Joe. EA is actively destroying all of the community's work.

The previous BF titles didn't need kernel level anti-cheat.

This isn't about anti-cheat. This is anti-piracy at the expense of our privacy.

Glad you guys fixed the The Heartless mission difficulty ... one week after it took me an afternoon to finish it, at level 21 as my first mission after leaving Footfall. I had to reload the space battle 10 times and probably 20 times the final battle. Do you know how hard it is to beat, at once, a boss with 400 hp and insane AOE, 2 mini-bosses with 300 hp and insane range and about 4 elite tanks with 160hp, while the most your 3 tanks have is 80hp? And starting basically in a killbox? And then when you finally manage to do it, and half your party is dead, that boss comes back with 500 HP and even more insane AOE. I almost sold my soul to the Chaos Gods to finish that mission but, in the end, I didn't have to: thank the God-Emperor who's light guided me to bring 2 cyber-mastiffs, a psyber raven and a cyber - eagle,
Those of us how did, could we maybe get an achivment for beating the Heartless Mission at level 21 about 8 levels bellow what it was intended originally?
Thank you!

Woah easy on the spoilers!

Solomane is lv24 so I think that's the intended level. I finished this at like lv17 on the hardest difficulty but had me going W T F ! several times during the fight. Great battle and rewards should be even better.

It was hard to understand exactly what was going on tho with the pylons. There's also two buttons and I thought you had to press both to stop the warp, so I was frantically trying to open the top and bottom gates so I could press them within 4 turns...but you can't really tell which opens which.

One tip I have is you can pin the sniper mate down with glaito in his starting box and he won't do anything for the rest of the fight. Another is to have only your tank near those bodyguards at the very start, they're so tough.
The pylons open up the same side in every playthrough, there is nothing random there, so just try around which ones you need. I found the battle fairly easy, on unfair as soon as I reached it.
