Not that I imagine they'll listen or it matters much to them, but I left a pretty in depth review outlining most of the problems their decision to make pvp opt-in only have caused. The review is negative and will remain that way unless the opt-in only nature of the pvp system is changed. (so i imagine it never will be a positive review) One point I would like to address, that i fail to in my review, is that invasions no longer function as invasions. If making pvp opt-in only is the hill they are choosing to die, and kill their multiplayer scene on, then they should at least add duels as an option or replace invasions with duels entirely.

Invasions ONLY exist as accepting open ended invitations to pvp from people that want to either gank you with friends or abuse you with meta pvp builds at this point, with very little in between. Invasions are just duels/ganks but with the invader always being at a heavy resource disadvantage, due to the arena-like conditions the game puts you in with the moth walls blocking off routes of movement and egress. If an area is cleared by the player being invaded, it just becomes an arena where the invader is always at a disadvantage. This incentivizes abstaining from invading and just letting people invade you. This WILL eventually KILL the vast majority of the pvp scene in this game.

Oh, and another thing, people complaining about being invaded prior to the opt-in only pvp update need a reality check. Being invaded on average once only every 8-9 hours of gameplay is such a statistically and experientially unimportant aspect to the game. You, the developers have decided to ruin the experience of the majority of your players that enjoy pvp, the people that theorycraft their builds and really get into the combat of the game, the ones that want to keep fighting match after match, the people that will still be playing the game long after the whiners stop, and for what? So that some really loud criers don't have to deal with the possibility of a speed bump the size of a pea, once every 1-2 play sessions. Very cool.

Yeah, as someone who WAS getting super invested into the game (and going on to recommend it to my friends), this update took the wind out of my sails, and a lot of my friends also lost interest when I told them about it.

There's... really just no reason to keep playing anymore.



I looked at the Steam Charts and there's actually been a fairly sharp drop in players since they made "Invasions" opt-in.

Those people who said that update would make them come back and play the game simply aren't coming back and playing the game like they said they would.


Invasions could've been fun if they would've did what they did to the game and just stuck with it and made them fun.
DEVS: Hey, so we made this silly pool here and the majority that voted here wants invasions to be opt out, you guys going to play, right?? Right??
