the camera manual centering is a thing you get over after a dozen or so hours, how are you past 1500 and still trying to figure it out
put the enemy in the center of your screen, press r3, done
if you have an enemy in the center of your screen and you press r3 and it does the manual center then you didnt need to lock on in the first place

im not talking about not locking on for a boss fight so your movement and visibility is better, im talking about how you are in absolutely zero danger and there is a zero chance you will hit the boss if you are in a position where your camera isnt locking on, if you ARE in a position where you might need to dodge or can hit the boss and your camera consistently isnt locking on then thats 100% on you

but also after your first playthrough or two you should be able to fight nearly every normal enemy and a decent amount of bosses without locking your cam, but i do understand why people perma lock their cam its just usually "better" if you learn unlocked
