Make first aid easier to level, it takes far too long and too many resources as is.

I'd also add throwing weapons to this. I am up to Security and have only found 1 viable throwing weapon (darts) so far, and they fall off very quickly in damage potential. I just found a new type of dart now. So my throwing is currently level 2 when every other combat skill is at around level 10. Either I missed some throwing weapons or maybe some more should be added into the early/mid game.

As for first aid, in my single player game it's at around level 6 which is a couple of levels below most other skills. The only skills lower than this are cooking, fishing and throwing. I guess it's a bit tricky to balance. If you take a bunch of damage you'll get more first aid skill, and if you don't find or use a hazard suit you'll probably get a lot of XP from downing Iodine tablets.

One thing I'd like the game to do is to show you on hover over the XP bars whether a skill level has any actual effect outside of perks. For example blunt melee level 8 and 9 I have no idea if I'm actually benfitting from a stat increase, or whether its just working towards the next perk at level 12. If there is a stat gain the game should tell you this somewhere, and it could show the percentage when you hover over the relevant XP block in the grid. It would just be nice for a feeling of reward for a player. If there is no reward then perhaps make this clear in the tutorial or documentation.

So a few things. First, while throwing is annoying to level and could use a change, if you want to cheese it you can set up a macro, turn xp to 3x, turn off hunger, thirst, fatigue, and bathroom meters, then throw nets at the ground and pick them up while afk. Throwing exp scales off of distance, so going for long shots will get you more xp if you want to level it normally. Also, throwing weapons actually scale pretty well, since they gain +2 damage for every point in throwing, this is especially effective for thrown sharp weapons since this damage bonus and their base damage is doubled, meaning at max throwing thrown sharp weapons get +80 damage (IIRC)

Second, weapons show their skill damage bonus as a little plus next to the base damage number, and you CAN see the effect of skills by hovering over the skill's icon to the left of the skill screen, although this doesn't show every bonus, as sprinting only mentions the natural speed bonus in sprinting 10 lightspeed, and it doesn't mention that sprinting gives a stamina regen bonus at all. A little more transparency for the exact impact of certain perks and skills would be nice, I agree, but there is at least some information available in game.

Hope this helps :D
