The game doesn't require PhysX to run but if you don't install it you will miss out on cloth simulation and other features. You don't need an Nvidia card to use it. In fact the newest generation of Nvidia cards doesn't even support it anymore. It will run on the CPU instead.

Tbh, I'm not surprised that Gothic 3 doesn't run well. It was always plagued by memory leaks and bugs. On Windows this will lead to OS corruption and eventually bluescreens. Linux is less lenient and kills the application if it doesn't behave.

I will agree that most are playing modded, but certainly not all. I have been playing vanilla myself. Certain mods are considered but haven't gotten around to them.

Outside of that, I concur with pretty much the rest of your post. And I have little interest in achievements as they are mostly just regular checkboxes. Though when I do accomplish something in a game that is difficult or just outright silly, especially when it just happened as opposed to going for it on purpose, then I am like "oh cool". But that is about it.

You're missing out big time if you're not playing with mods TBH.

As soon as the warning box popped up on my screen I uninstalled. Like someone else in the comments has said, you're forcing people to do something that fixes nothing. Even if you remove this requirement now I'm out. This was last chance saloon for the franchise for me and I'm done with it.
