Krafton responds to lawsuit with court filing

Something I believe about it is that Krafton invested in Subnautica 2, 3, 4 etc. - simply because it makes no sense to make a short-term $500 million investment when Google says first game made like 120.

The main issue is the additional up to $250 million payday which kind of created a conflict of interests for both sides. Either the dev sabotages itself to release the game no matter what and pocket the money. Or the publisher causes harm to the franchise (what it claimes it tries to prevent) by delaying it and thus avoid having to pay. Because, let's face it, no matter how this plays out, the damage is done.

And frankly, both sides' positions are flawed. $250 million is pocket change for Krafton, and I find it difficult to believe they'd make such a big deal out of it, because see my first paragraph. At the same time, I find it equally hard to believe all 3 of the "Key Employees" decided to slack away and live their best lives with newly acquired money, while still "concocting a scheme" to get another payday in the end. I get it if one of them got tired of it and wanted a way out. Okay, perhaps two. But all of them? This remind me of a Soviet era meme "Shepilov, who joined them" - which was basically a fancy way of avoiding to say that almost all the key members were removed at once following a power play.

It seems like Krafton came in with certain preconceptions as to how games are developed, and those expectations clearly weren't met. Who knows who's at fault there - perhaps they did not communicate them well enough.

Krafton put the incentive out to get hard work. Then, without letting them publish it and see if they deserve to earn the bonus or not, they took that option unilaterally away to save 250 Million USD. It's not pocket money. That is a huge sum. They simply thought they can get the game mostly done and keep the money AND get away with it.

It depends on us, the players, if they really get away with it or not.

One solution to this problem is to become a legit support player yourself. I've been playing video games for a very long time (and probably before most of the current player base has been born), and the "Healers aren't doing X and I'm frustrated" refrain is as old as sand.

Yes, there may be some new to support or have little clue as to what they should be doing, but I give them props for even trying such a hard to master role. But I'm a firm believer that communication is the most important aspect of a team-based game. How often do you see people actually trying to be helpful or giving strategic advice without being toxic? Every time I see a post blaming others for lack of competence, I always think that the ones complaining the most usually have never even tried to guide others to victory.

TLDR; Support is not a lapdog and should not be bound to your every whim like you think they should. Take time to learn the role, realize how easy it is to get into, and then realize just how difficult it is to master, and that you won't have master supports every match. Fewer people have what it takes because it is one of the most selfless roles, and to be great at it requires skill in observation and strategy.

They are seeing things and multitasking around all the other dps and their tunnel vision. Think of them as a lieutenant instead. They should be calling shots and communicating status of team formation and objectives.
here realle simple idea wich doesn't need to be 1 k hours in this game. If you pick healer you heal, what i see they pick heal but insted of healing they attack forward. Don't try change discussion using words like lap dog and etc no one ask this, if you pick hero you should do what this hero was made for, as long as this game is team game people should do what they char was creat for, its not lap dogs its common sense.
