Keep in mind that Resident Evil 4 is still a survival horror game at its core, not a pure action game. The limited healing system and inventory management are intentional design choices to create tension and resource scarcity, which are key elements of the genre.

Unlike games like Alan Wake 2 or RE7/8, which might have different pacing or mechanics, RE4 Remake preserves that classic survival horror feel. You're supposed to feel the pressure when you're low on healing items and that's why people love playing this genre and that's what makes the game thrilling. If healing were too convenient or automatic, it would remove a big part of the suspense and challenge.

The pause during inventory is also strategic: it lets you think, but it doesn't make things easier, you still have to manage your resources carefully, and that moment of pause is part of the game's iconic rhythm.

I prefer to categorize the game as a driving game and not so much a simulator. The game does have several functions that simulates real driving etc. but compared to full simulator games this game is very far from being a simulator. And thank god for that to be honest.
I enjoy the game as is - it’s about the driving and getting from A to B. It’s not perfect and yes - AI can be a major pain but just drive defensively and let the AI come first. And live with the sometimes irrational behavior.

Is there room for improvement? Yes of cause there is. But SCS is a smaller company that also needs to be a business. So I say - we get there when we get there. Until then - enjoy what is and live with its quirks. ETS2 is your fix for shutting off the brain and just relax.

Konami saved like 60% of their budget and still they priced 3 hour game for 70£. Kekw.

I was ready to pay 50£ at least, but i will wait to get it for like a 10£ in some future by buying key somewhere. I'm also MGS Fan but not a muppet.

Thank you for proving that you don't know what you are talking about, there is no saving 60% when they have to redo the game in UE5, add new things in-game, work on FOX HOUND and more.

We saw what happened when Konami made Metal Gear Survive: people cried because it was new, so unlike with Resident evil If Konami changed actors people would have been mad, same thing If they've changed the story you'll hear kojidrones say "OMG Konami is erasing kojima from MGS games !", "Konami changed stuff that didn't need to".

Anyway If you can't afford the game it's fine to wait for a sale, all steam users do it at some point hence why we have a wishlist, as a metal gear fan I've pre-ordered the deluxe edition to support the franchise so If MGS DELTA flopped and we won't get any remakes history will remember that I did my part.
