ok, I just tested this on my storm/warfare character, I took a crappy bow.
since it is an ice build character ice damage is buffed by equip, lightning not (only a bit by spell damage stuff).

I spent 2 points in core for a crappy bow. shot some spiders at the graveyard.

test 1: only frost explosion damage is always around 75.
test 2 only only ligtnign strike I get damage always around 65
test 3 both. now the damage is around 70-72ish.
(it seemed not to matter which I modified in first)

repeated that with strike damage conversion (which my character has no spec for expect general damage conversion. now strike only hits very pretty low,
adding forst to the strike did increase it again but not to the degree of ice only.

so it seems, that 2 conversions actually splits the damage into those conversions

this funnily questions if it is woth to go into two of them.

plus side:
you get two triggered effects.
you cann add more aliments
can circumvent enemies with specific high resitances for one of these both partially.

downside
it eats more modification slots,
Items that drop need to improve noth damage types to get better results compared to a focused one.

Storm and fire mix pretty damn well! You just have to utilize the synergies and there are a lot of them. Probably this combination is the one with the highest damage output (done correctly).

Both are spell casting masteries and have passives that boost spells, just stack them. If using Frost Shards, Earth has 2 Energy Reserving skill which boosts them if you use attuned Shards (big impact with all the multiplications going on with this skill). Fire has skills that can go off on their own while casting Shards for example. It has an aura that decreases resistances.

Also there are several synergies possible with for example Overflow and Overload, like an generator skill and a consumer skill (especially on the Earth side). Both can work / boost ailmants. If they dont work well for you, its your build that isnt well thought out, this are probably the most synergizing masteries right now, even you might end up being a bit squishy (typical for spell casters)...

While Storm + Warfare can be pretty tanky while still doing a lot of damage, like melting bosses in a few seconds (Storm on its own is capable to do so).

But never tried to combine any of them into melee. I assume that Earth+Warfare might work well for a melee, partial spell caster character.


i used stormm warfare for ice shards, and man I am having homing iciles that pierce opponents and utilise rage ats a nightmare for bosses.

18 projectiles that pierce three times (probably more, I don't know about how 30%increased projectile targets truly works, if that icnreases the amounts of pierced enemis or just circumvents resistances).

They just home in and return to pierce the same enmy again. Bosses get so shredded you gonna feel sad for them.

And after watching "Why Dreamsettler Wasn't Finished" please, Jay, it's ok to have vison, but i think you also know that even the game looks alien to you, we booth know the first "spark" making your first hobby game, will be impossible or very hard to do.

I had my Burnout now a year ago, a whole year 24h a day headaches, doctors could not really say why, but even today i got still of symptoms left and have my difficulties working again. But i got through it, feeling better as ever, and doing stuff i holded back then. (I am programmer which sadly have high burnout rate)

And i am happy to see your passion for this project, but i also wanted to mention, please dont be shy to ask for help, many here in this community could maybe help things out, i know games are not be supposed be "OpenSource" but wounderful things could happen with open games.

As example i pick now two things out of the video which i think bothered you, the text pixel style and the flash thingy. Ask the Internet for help, like Vtubers ask for Model-Artist with sketches or even old work of them, or ask on Sites like reddit or stackeroverflow "How can i achieve this kind of style in HTML/UNity, or do you guys have any design ideas". You got a whole community now which are hypno space Expert's and many of them understands your vision or the feeling why the game was so special. It's ok if not all ideas comes from you, but you should be happy with them. (And even if you did already, i think many did not see your struggles, please be more open)

My advice would be, take your time, i hope all technicall stuff is finished (or try to let your programmers finish it, if needed fund it! We are happy to help). And do it like in back of your days, start after 5 years, take multiple years then working on the game yourself/collecting cool ideas (watching old stuff), ask your community ( i am also into this cool 2000s stuff, it feels so nostalgic). And if you need money, raise a kickstarter. Or maybe go wild and make not a game, more rather Openproject first where people can create sites and ideas on cloud server (like Toby Fox did with silent flower), and after while if you feel like it, collect ideas, make your Vision come true.
