Heretic and hexen both have the ability to look up and down in the original dos versions.

That's why it's in this version.

They do, but dos versions still had auto aim at all times.

Direct aiming is *technically* a gameplay advantage (being able to choose targeys better) but not a massive one. I don't see iD changing it though.
