There IS a place you can see Recruit progression. It's just not in the MAIN menu, but rather the one you access from SAVE Points.

when i got tired of regular gameplay i started to go crazy like this, its the funniest part of the game. EIther the painting and breaking the wires all over the place. I even managed to crash the game to desktop by flooding a room with the cables by scraping it
